LHR-CDG-HKG

LHR-CDG-HKG is the only choice available for my redemption booking.

Has anyone flown on this route or something similar?

Could the boarding pass CDG-HKG (CX) be issued by BA at LHR?

What's the minimum connection time at CDG?

You should be able to through-check your bags and receive your boarding pass at LHR.

You will not be issued a ticket if it falls below minimum connecting time... so if you can book the award, you are good to go! (And fully protected in the event you miss your connection.)

Nope, CX and BA both use Terminal 2A at CDG

Boohoohoo I'd try to get to CDG a day earlier and avoid the APD.

ex CDG premium cabin taxes arent so much cheaper. one need to look into AMS or FRA for considerably lower taxes.

Same terminal 2A and gates can be nearby, BUT you have to go through security again.

BA would be able to issue the CX BP, but you can easily get it on internet by OLCI.

Even if one hour is enough, you have to factor in that BA flights from LHR can be delayed (and often are given LHR congestion). I would never book a connection under 2 hours. It is not very risky on the HKG-CDG-LHR direction as you are protected and put on the next BA flight. But if you miss the CX flight, you might have to wait for the next day. And CX flights are often quite full in premium cabins, so the next flight might be full in J.

Yes, LON-MIL-HKG
Yes, I went to the CX counter in T3 before proceeding to T5 and got my MILHKG boarding pass.
Cannot comment as I do not typically pass through PAR.
(I did this to save money actually, as I used BA RFS to pay with more Avios instead of money.)

LHR tax policy

Thanks for all the replies.

I finally redeemed LHR-FRAx-HKG. However I was charged 413RA 1671GB and 355UB respectively. Is it a correct quote to be charged the longhaul premium tax?

If I am charged correctly, would I pay less if LHR-FRA is Y, FRA-HKG in J/F or remain paying the same?

Or should I rebook to LHR-FRA/DUSo-HKG or open jaw FRA/DUS-HKG instead for lower amount of tax to be paid?

LHR/MAN > CDG > FRA > DUS > AMS/ZRH > FCO/MXP in terms of fuel sucharges, the higher comes first.

So it seems like connecting flt class also matters for GB tax, and there's a YQ difference depend on the class of BA flt.

Airport tax maybe, but certainly not YR for CX flt. All CX long-haul flts have the same fuel surcharge.

Oh yes, that was a typo regarding to airport tax instead of fuel surcharge.
