HKG-LAX Crew Assignment?

It depends on the flight #.
882/883 is normally a LAX-based crew pattern, while the other three (898/897 884/885 and 880/881) are HKG crew patterns. This is a general rule. However, due to certain changes, sick calls, other unexpected changes etc. it's quite feasible to end up with a mixed crew on any of the four.

Yup. AFAIK, CX 881/882 are LAX-based. I flew 882 recently and the F cabin is all HKG-based, J-cabin is LAX/HKG mixed (mostly LAX) while Y is LAX-based.
