Not expecting much in terms of big promos til June. Smaller, limited scope promos like Mannings perhaps.

Not much in terms of welcome offers right now either.

Thanks. Fortunately, since I only got started on this last year, I've still got a few banks to go (SC, Citi) in terms of welcome offers.

Citi PM and Prestige welcome offers are pretty crap right now

SCB Worldmiles' 6,000 miles for $8,000 spend/8,000 miles for $80,000 spend/ $4/mile is OK (best was 10,000 miles for $12,000 spend).

Just noticed the HSBC Friday 11x is extended for this year. For those who applied in 2014, do you need to apply again for this year, or it's done automatically?

Thanks in advance for advice.

SCB's doing a 100K AM for 1M 1-year new funds fixed deposit. Not terrifically attractive...

Ridiculous - the interest rate is fixed at 0.01% p.a. = HK$100 for every HK$1M deposited.

Ah yes, thanks fellas. I forgot the 11x Friday came as part of the 6x, which was always until the end of 2015 anyway.
Thanks for the confirmation.

Hi Guys!

Just received the HSBC Premier Master Card. Would you happen to know which will be better if I use my cards to mostly pay for hotel accommodation? Eg. To Expedia, Starwood, IHG, etc. I really do not understand the 6x 11x. This is a must to achieve what the wiki lists as the cost right?

Currently I am using the Singapore UOB Amex Privi Miles which costs $5.67 for every 2.5 miles (KF) [Or $2.835 HKD per 1 mile]. Should I be switching and paying with my HSBC Premier MC (Hong Kong) instead?

Also for dining I am using a Singapore card [Preferred Platinum Amex] ($1.417 HKD per 1 mile) so I don't think there is a need to change to the HSBC card here right?

Are there any cards out there that might be better than the HSBC Premier MC [Hong Kong] given that my spending is mostly on:
- Accommodation
- Airfare
- Food & Beverage

Regards and a Happy & Prosperous (15th day) Lunar New Year!

Bryanhuang: could you fill us in on how you intend to settle HKD spending? Cos Singaporean foreign currency conversion fees of 3.25% on SGD Amex (am I right?) might amount to a lot (roughly equivalent to 2 mile/S$)

I am surprised with Yue (粵) at City Garden Hotel. I dined there previously and it seems to classify as dining under HSBC. Did you try to call them?
