Question KA fly HND red eye to HKG?

It claims that KA will fly HND red eye to HKG starting S15...

http://www.traicy.com/archives/8649559.html

CX / KA own website has not yet reveal this flight despite that S15 flight time has been updated for existing flight... Any brothers have access to KVS to check if there's such flight in system?

p.s. If it's real, assume landing on time at 23:30, would it be possible to rush out for the last train departure at around 24:00 ?

unless they pad the schedule big time, no.

CX548 ETA 1325. I'm usually out at 1415 (i remember clearly cuz there's no way i can make the 1430 domestic departures…)

Theoretically, if you can use automated immigration channel and no checked baggage, there is a chance.

BTW, there are bus services to Shinagawa station(00:40-01:12, 01:00-01:45 via Kamata station) (1030JPY), and Shibuya satation(00:00-00:49,00:30-01:19,01:00-01:49)(2060JPY).

I tried looking at the award seats for this KA flight for the coming Easter. These's a small green icon reads "TR", with remark of "There is a traffic restriction for this flight."

Any ideas what's that about?

Still doesn't answer why this is a KA operated flight and not CX... fleet restriction perhaps but one would assume you want those new flat beds in business class as opposed to KA "business" class which is on par at best with premium economy in CX for redeye flight back...

the departure time from HK at 6:30pm is perfect for business travellers... Maybe they view this as leisure heavy route. But flying this on KA flag introduces checkin/reservation/ticketing burden for Tokyo.

Agree with your points ^ on the surface it would seem that CX would be the best fit for this flight

Using an A320 as well so really catered towards Y pax.

Maybe CX is getting heavily overbooked in Y on CX542 and wanted to cater to this demand but not with another widebody? Or perhaps CX has run out of spare aircraft?

me thinks cx wants to keep HND as a all F ok route and they don't want to "waste" an 77H on that route

KA got flexibility to adjust the aircraft, from smallest A320 to A321 to the " biggest" A330.

I was a bit surprised that they not even use the A321 which got more J seat, but use the smallest A320....
