BOS-HKG

Last I heard BOS to HKG direct will be starting on 5/3/15. Any updates to that or any rumblings of when award availability will open?

we can only speak to CX's program Asia Miles/MPC - it is (and has been) open for a while.

If you're looking to burn AA miles, etc., you should probably be asking in that forum.

Was considering booking a premium economy seat on this new route. I think they'll use the B777 four class plane? Can anyone confirm?
I was wondering what the best PE seat would be. Does anyone have experience with this aircraft in the PE section?

It's open for AA redemptions. See starting at post 4252 in this thread.

812 seems to be doing extremely well...around 80% of the flights in July/August are sold out in Y based on EF flight availability. 811 not as well, maybe 20% of the flights sold out. How does such a disparity exist, outside of a lot of hkg based pax booking one way flights? Seems a little early for one way student travel.

Well July/August is international student migration season, especially with the loads of schools in the New England area. I would expect the loads to be good. I've been one a waitlist for 812 for J since February.

For me personally, the ex-BOS departure time is a no go, not to mention to arrival time in HKG. I'd much rather connect at JFK. Ex-HKG, though, it's perfect.

I think lots of schools starts in August, so I don't see why it's so surprising to see 812 being 80% sold on most flights.

I'm still stuck on a waitlist for a bunch of HKGBOS flights in August with no end in sight!

Trying to get HKG-BOS for 11 July. Flight shows F1A1, but not a single seat in F reserved on the seat map? So 5 out of 6 seats in F are sold and not a single person pre-reserved a seat? I don't buy it.
