I have priority pass too which gives me access to Swiss and Air France lounges... Is either of those better than the BA lounge? I am mainly interested in hot food and shower.

Swiss F lounge is very small with minimal food. No showers in the F section - might have showers in Business section.

Swiss F - a big joke, my bedroom is bigger, seriously...

BA F - slightly better, hot soup is serve, some food selections but think high school buffet rather than high class dining.

BA J side - actually roomier and with better food.

Didn't notice any showers, but J side there might be one (BA), Swiss J is a joke too.

Never tried Air France.

I've used the AF lounge at ORD when I flew Aer Lingus a couple months ago.

Basic booze including sparkling wine, snacks, and a refrigerator with 3 or 4 kinds of premade sandwiches that can be warmed. Mine was quite tasty.

The lounge has no restrooms and no showers.

A quiet employee walked through the lounge whispering the news that Aer Lingus is boarding.

I found it to be acceptable for a 1 hour wait to board.

Yea I flew ORD-LHR on BA F and when I first walked into the F lounge I was underwhelmed to say the least: Cup o Noodles and crackers. But apparently there's dinner service at the Terraces Lounge across the hall for F passengers which more than made up for this: It was excellent made to order high end cuisine with personalized service to match.

If you have an iDevice try downloading a free app called loungebuddy - load in your memberships (priority pass, airline status programmes etc), which will stay stored in the app, and then load in your trip details and it will tell you which lounges you can access and whether access is free or paid - but note it doesn't filter by terminals so it may also show lounges you can't access because you aren't using the relevant terminal. It lists the facilities in each lounge, and users can contribute reviews and photos. It's a great little app.

I have no affiliation with loungebuddy save as a user (and occasional unpaid contributor!)

As far as lounges at ORD... keep your expectations low, and you'll then only be mildly disappointed. Same for CX ground service there, in my experience.

Your best lounge is indeed the BA F/J Lounge.... First lounge and Business lounge are across the hall from each other. The First Lounge has a view of the CX aircraft. In addition, you board the CX aircraft from the lounge.

The First lounge is small but adequate... The day I was there they had soup, sandwiches, salad and dessert. The drink list is a bit more substantial.

If travelling F, which I did, the ground crew was excellent. At check in we were offered escort direct from checkin to security to lounge, and we bypassed everyone in line (It was a long line)...

The lounge is staffed by Cathay Staff for the 2pm flight....

Just be prepared to ask. I just flew F out of ORD in late October and did not get any escort.

It's one of the benefits that isn't always offered actively, you needed to ask.

And at ORD, you DO NEED to ask, that security line is ridiculous. I am so glad I'm DM with Escort service when I travel out of ORD.

I did not have to ask... They offered without asking...

And if they don't offer, then ask.
