When I connect from a domestic flight, I like to visit the AA Flagship lounge in T3 then head over to T5 for the international segment. If anyone attempts this, leave plenty of time to schlep over to T5.

If you don't have escort option, I would say you need to start lining up at T5 90 minutes out. The security line can get ridiculously long.

Check in agent asked me if I would like escort, and I said yes. The BA F lounge agent, also CX staff, also offered to escort me to boarding when the time comes.

Ever take CX805 (the midnight flight)? I fly it next week for the first time. Lines crazy like that during late hours?

The BA site says that the lounge hours are open 1400 hours. CX807departs at that time. Can you access the F lounge before 1400?

You should be fine... the BA lounge is staffed by CX personnel at this time, and will be open for the CX flight.. There will be food and drinks available.

None of the available lounge options at ORD has particularly impressed me. I've flown CX F out of ORD three or four times, now. Mostly, I prefer to shop or walk around the terminal. Don't care about the food since the food onboard will be much better.

Having to ask for an escort through security is strange (to me). When I was ticketed in Asiana F out of ORD, there was a separate line for F ticket holders which the airport staff led me through. I had no ground staff from the airline with me, they just told me to go and cut in front of people on my own. Did I just get lucky?

There is a line marked for J and F passengers, and you can use that on your own. Currently it is on the left as you approach the entrance to the lines. The person guarding the entrance will look at your boarding pass and point you to the J/F line. However, there is also an unmarked line, currently on the far right, that you cannot enter on your own. You have to be escorted so the guard at the entrance will allow you through.

There is a separate line, and it is shorter than cattle class. But once you get the boarding pass checked by TSA, you then queue up with everyone else.

I think the CX escort will help you to bypass that queue. (I've seen it, but did not get an escort when I flew F out of ORD in October.)

No, the CX escort takes you from check in to lounge. You bypass everyone, including queue for security screening...

5 minutes max!
