December 15 2012 CX840 What a mess
Sitting in the lounge now after spending 3+ hours on a boiling hot plane. Passengers screaming and upset from the heat and lack of communication - 2 announcements over three hours. Flight "might" leave at 12:45. No meal vouchers offerred, no appology, nothing... (I got some meal vouchers after having a 1 hour discussion with them).
Makes me wonder why I bother to pay for a full fare J ticket with service like that.
We are leaving in a week hope they have everything fixed by then. Also there seemed to be rare 4 first class award seat for tomorrow. 2 on CX841 and 2 on CX831 if anyone is interested.

Same plane and 8 hours later AC still not fixed. Also it looks like another 45 minute delay on top of everything else. Staff were all in hiding during the second boarding. Really unprofessional.
Write a letter and I'm sure they'll give you some form of compensation. Maybe an inflight Duty Free voucher or something. Paying J pax should never have to endure this.

It's past 2 am and we still haven't gone and now people are demanding to get off (we're at a remote stand). Asked the crew to turn on IFE and they ignored me. Wonderful. I think I deserve a refund.

Sorry to hear all that. Definitely write to MPO, but they'll probably give you $200 USD in-flight purchase voucher or something like that...
But yeah, I would be very upset if this happened to me too. As for the crew, sounds like you got a bad one too, or maybe they've started the "no-smiles" strike early...

Finally they cancelled the flight after 10 hours of hell. They are doing an extra flight at 9:30 am. The IPhone app and a data plan worked fine for updating from the remote stand. Lots of people think that the strike threat had something to do with the poor treatment. The Pier now looks like a refugee camp since the sent the entire flight there.

As a friendly reminder (especially you are 1K/GS), don't expect you will get something as the size UA will give it to you.

No hotel for anyone sitting here with most of the people in the first cabin. Only person who offered any apology was the captain when we left our second boarding. I really don't care about compensation, but lack of a proper apology is unforgivable. .
Yeah. What a mess!!! It looks like CX889s departing on 15 Dec and 16 Dec are also delayed 20-22 hours!!!
I'll be on CX889 this Wednesday (19 Dec) ex-JFK, so I hope this mess will be cleaned up by then!!! Incidentally, I snatched an F award seat that appeared this morning and relinquished my C reservation. I wonder if the person who gave up the seat canceled because of a strike threat.
I'm going to be watching CX ops like a hawk up until departure, so I can proactively reschedule/reroute if necessary.
