CX interlines with Jetblue Airways

Good move. Jetblue is a good up and coming airline in America. Although they are also famous for leaving passenger on tarmacs for 6-10 hours... :D |

Excellent news! Thanks for the heads up, CB. I travel on B6 domestic every time I go over to the US, and this will make a huge difference. Anyone who has done it before the baggage interlining will know the pain of going outside and then rechecking in.
Question: should we just provide both e-tickets when checking in, so that the check-in staff at HKIA / IFC will know to interline it? |

"Through the arrangement, effective later this summer" - looks like we can expect for an(other) update closer to implementation date. But good news overall, will make my travels much easier. Only problem is the vastly different baggage check-in rules...

I'm not sure if this is answered or not or even possible; but does their partnership mean you can earn Asia Miles on Jetblue? How would you key this in if you're able to?

Nothing so far unless a FFP agreement is going to be signed later on. At this stage it is only baggage interline, a very basic feature among legacy companies. It is even not a codeshare.

We tried this in mid August (without even knowing that it was under discussion): TPE-HKG-JFK-MCO, fine from Taipei to JFK on CX but the CX agents in Taipei couldn't tag our bags for Orlando, just to JFK, which means that the people at the transfer desk at Terminal 7 in JFK wouldn't accept them and we had to take them on the Skytrain to the JetBlue terminal. Not a big deal as we had plenty of time and checkin there was painless but the interlining didn't seem to be a reality in mid-August.

If you have flown to any NYC airports (EWR/LGA/JFK), you know the mess. |
B6 interlines with JAL as well, and you can earn AA miles flying B6. Would not surprise me to see a closer cooperation between OneWorld and B6 in the near future.

You'd still have to collect your bag despite the interline due to customs regulations, though, which sucks. I guess it works when you fly from US back to HK.
