Can you book two award nights on the same night?
One for myself, the other for my mother , all points coming from my account?
(Same hotel)
Or more likely one would be a free Friday night, the other would be a award night on points,

Yes it's possible. People have to do this quite routinely when the travel/family party constituents can't be accommodated in just one room using points. For example, it's possible for a family of six persons to need to book 2-3 rooms to accommodate the two parents and their four children. This can be done using points or promotional award nights.
