I came across a shockingly different rate. $83 via Expedia and $124 through radisson.com

I did that already and they denied me because the cancellation policies were not the same.
But if I'm not going to earn Gold Points, I'm not sure what incentive I have to stay there.... I might as well choose the cheapest or best located property regardless of hotel loyalty program. The Raddison has neither this time.

I think that's the reason why their cancellation policy is now, free cancellation till the day of arrival till 6 PM.
There is no 3rd party booking site that could offer you to do free cancelling till the same day you will arrive. They allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before of your arrival.
So by that way, they simply deny all of price guarantee requests.

I've had reservations booked at 3rd party websites earn CC points. But only at hotels which I had previuosly stayed at (and booked through the CC website). What happens is I book the room. Then 1 or 2 days later, that reservation will show up in the "my reservations" section of my CC account (with a CC confimation number); even though I never enter my CC number when booking. Perhaps the hotel's computer system recognizes my name and attaches my profile to the reservation. The points post normally after checkout. Whether or not this is done in error and not an allowed policy is a different matter.

I have earned points several times trough 3rd party bookings.
I just gave them my CC card when I checked in with the voucher and told them 'for the points...' They have always given me points on the stay but this was always at the same hotel though... maybe the staff didn't realise I am not entitled to them.

Make sure your claimed rate is for the same room type, including options like bed type, breakfast, cancelation rules etc and provide some documentation.

Follow up - the hotel emailed me back themselves confirming they would match my rate! That was a nice surprise
