Club Carlson - Roll over nights, how do they work?
Trying to understand how rollover works for CC. What's your experience?
E.g.
2012 say 110 paid nights
2013 you would get 35 rollover nights (110-75 for concierge), then say another 90 paid nights. Total = 125 nights
2014 should you have 50 nights rollover (125-75) or 15 (90-75)?
I assumed 50, as I understand the rollover nights only last a year.
So I saw it as 35 rollover nights covering 2013 and I also then paid say paid 90 nights, so I have used my 35 rollover nights in 2013 plus 40 paid stays (of the 90), leaving 50 rollover nights for my 2014 allowance.
However a club carlson representative told me it is actually 10, as once you have over 75 paid stays (e.g. top status) the roll over nights are effectively worthless.

Rollover nights are a benefit of concierge members as well so there is no point in calling extra qualification nights worthless.
Besides, the website says:
"Rollover Nights
Get a jump-start on the new program year: we will automatically carry your unused qualifying nights forward."
Maybe it is just a matter of the system having trouble registering nights above 75.

Same experience here; the previous year's rollover nights may help you achieve a new elite level in a given year, but they are not "used first", they just get dropped. I had 10 rollover and 62 actual nights for 72 total. Gold requires 35 and I got 27 rollover nights (62-35), not 37 (72-35).

Thank you for the explanation.
Another nice way of Club Carlson telling their customers "go somewhere else" IMHO. As I got a 12-night rollover from last year, I will make sure I will only stay more than 23 nights this year at Carlson Rezidor properties if I really need or find an excellent deal... Otherwise, try to get some status at another brand...
