We've been to Puerto Rico a bunch of times but have always got out of San Juan as the rest of the island is BEAUTIFUL !!
With the recent stay 1 get 1 Radisson promo, thinking of a couple nights at this property, has anyone stayed recently?

(I stayed just before the ModDO - I wished I had known you wanted to go!)
As a Gold I got a suite upgrade (with small balcony) at the top of the back tower - there seem to be two parts to the hotel. It was OK - a sort of musty smell that I take as being from the air con. All the staff were friendly - the lounge is OK for evening snacks and breakfast - although they make you pay for all drinks in the evening - even sodas ($2.95 plus tax). View from room was of car park. Burger King next door. $18 from airport. 2 blocks to beach. Pool is small.
There is quite a range of standby upgrades offered once you book - I think it was $30 for a suite - although there are two sizes.
Let me know if you want to know anything else and I will update the link to the pics once it's done.

good to hear breakfast was ok, was it 'pure' continental or were there some hot items (like eggs)?

December Stay, Gold Member, Cash and points. Old decor, but upgraded to top floor suite, again dated, but clean and comfy. Access to lounge, afternoon reception with cash bar and basic food. Breakfast is continental with some hot eggs, bacon, espresso machine with good coffee. I had to pay for self park. Free internet, two welcome drinks in lobby lounge, two $10 casino vouchers, rooftop pool, free water, welcome letter and welcome gift of chocolate almonds, condado city area location, two blocks from ocean, but not near a beach, business hotel, not resort.
Great for a business, MR, to catch a cruise, but not for a multinight vacation stay. Not near old SJ, you need to catch a bus/taxi.

going for 3 nights, got to use up the freebe. Looking to rent a car for my last day, seems theres an Avis and Enterprise close by but they both close at 4PMish
Anyone know if theres free street parking overnight in the area or say within a 10-15 min walk? Or what the hotel charges for overnight parking?
Enterprise is $25 p/u by the Rad
Then again maybe I will just get the car @ 9am get out of town and make sure Im back by 4pm. Heading down the last week of Oct so sunset should be apx 6pm and probably best not to drive at night when Ive never been there before.

There is no street parking, best to use the hotel parking. No idea on daily rate as it is not mention in website, but you can call and ask.

Since the hotel is in busy condado, there is a slim chance to get street parking. Call to get rates. But when I was there, renting a car and paying parking was cheaper than the taxi expenses to and from the airport, hotel and old san juan. There is both self and valet parking.
Upon arrival plan is to bus it for $.75 since not gonna do much of anything that day have a 6am departure with 1 stop. My plan is also to bus it to/from OSJ. I would bus it back to SJU but dont want to chance missing my flight and with 2 connections its likely to happen.
The overnight parking was just so I didnt have to be back before 5pm when the LEs close up. Not worth it to me to pay for hotel parking for the extra hr or 2 , might just spend another day in OJU instead if I see I wont be able to do what I want to with the car
Thanks

I know it's been asked before, but do GOLD members get free brekkie at this property when booking a standard award booking. I'm wondering if it's worth paying the extra 14 bucks per night for the Ambassador floor upgrade.
Thanks

Thanks a bunch. Would you mind sharing your experience? I'm a bit apprehensive since some reviewers are claiming that there is a bad mold smell and the area isn't that great. Thanks again.
