Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu Milan, Italy

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very satisfied.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked standard room for 2 for 1 rate, 105 Euro for 2 nights, not prepaid. Received an upgrade to suite without asking as well as breakfast (for two).

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Didn't ask - not necessary
In-Room Welcome Gift - There was a free bottle of water and a fruit basket.
Free breakfast - Yes, we would have asked but didn't since it was offered right at the start.
Other - We were also offered a welcome drink by Bruno (one of the receptionists) but didn't take it since we had no time when he offered it.

How are the rooms?
The suite was great and on the sixth floor, nothing I can complain about. Maybe another free bottle for the second night would have been great but nothing to be expected.

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Room, upgrade, service attitude, free and fast internet.
Bad: I knew it when I booked it so no complaint here but of course the location could be better. Also, the breakfast is kind of uninspirating, I would expect a little more if I had to pay the regular rate.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?

Absolutely great money, especially for the 2 for 1 rate. If I had business in the city and it would be somewhat convenient to get there from the hotel, I would definitely return!

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu, Rome, Italy

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very happy.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard at Travel Zoo rate, received 40m2 room with balcony, fitness bike etc.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Check In at 13:00, requested late check out, only got to 13:00 because of full occupancy.
In-Room Welcome Gift - No

Got 20% off the restaurant. Probably should have gotten 15%.
They comped the breakfast (52 euro value). Not sure why, at checking I was told it was not included in my rate.

How are the rooms?
40m2, Shower and bathtub behind wall, two bathroom sinks integrated in room, WC in separate room. Large bed and couches.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
The design of the hotel.
The room.
Great service for everybody, even the maids greet you.
Gold benefits.
The pool and restaurant area.
The weather

Bad:
The hotel is a little worn, and there is some lack of attention to details.

Value for money? Would you return?
Great value for 99Ł+city taxes. Yes, even at a higher rate (atleast up to 180 euro with breakfast).

PS! Some people have complained about the neighbourhood. I didn't mind, but my attitude is you stay where you choose to stay.

Did you receive elite benefits?

How are the rooms?
Very big about 45m square.I had eight seating spaces spread over two sofas and four seats

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Free Parking at weekend; double sinks in bathroom, separate shower and double bath
Bad: They didn't seeme to know much about Concierge benefits, I had to tell the girl at breakfast I was a due a free one when I wasn't down on the list and I got "I'll just have to check" when I asked for the 15% discount off my barmeal

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?

This is a decent 4 star hotel and ome of my favourite Radissons. . You can get a lot of 2 for 1 and 4 for 2 nights if you book not to far in advance and it's a tenner to get there in a taxi from the City airport and close to the town centre.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu, Gewandhaus Dresden, Germany

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
The hotel is pretty much okay. I have stayed there around 70 nights this year, so I am pretty used to it but as you see, I do return

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room on corporate rate, received business class room.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Not required
In-Room Welcome Gift - Yes - chocolate and "personal card" from general manager

How are the rooms?
90s style but very much okay. By now they even have TV flat screens.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?

This is a decent 4 star hotel and the alternative would be to stay at the top fancy places like the Taschenberg Palais in Dresden which is way more expensive. So I do return but it certainly is a more medicore hotel compared to other Radisson Blus.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, England

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very happy.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Standard. Upgrade to studio room.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - 1pm late check-out
In-Room Welcome Gift - No

How are the rooms?
Very good for London - spacious and separate shower in the bathroom. Room had living area with separate TV. Did not see the standard room but expect the studio room is noticeably better. Modern, and although hotel was large and seemed quite full, the room itself was very quiet.

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Rooms, location (walkable to Covent Garden, 5 minutes by bus), facilities (swimming pool/sauna/steam room/fitness centre), breakfast (lots of choice, all replaced frequently)
Bad: Slow lifts, slightly weak shower pressure.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
I was booked on a Ł99 Travelzoo rate which included breakfast. This was superb value for central London and I would most definitely return.

Park Plaza, Riverbank London, UK

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Plaza, Riverbank London, UK

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not especially

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 'Superior room', received the same. Quite what the room is superior too I have no idea as it is the basic room sold.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Not required
In-Room Welcome Gift - No

How are the rooms?
Good size (for London), but in a poor state of repair: wardrobe door was broken, the bath tub chipped, curtain pulls bent and rusted. As seems to be common with Carlson properties, the only lighting is from the ceiling - there are no reading lamps, bedside or desk lights.
It's a lot of style over substance, the room looks impressive when you first enter but after a few hours the faults start to show.
Whilst the website makes a big deal about the view, in reality very few rooms will have a view of anything other that the buildings either side, the railway line behind, or if you are really unlucky an internal facing room.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Two for One rate was great value (Ł106 inc tax for two nights)
Free wi-fi (when it worked)
10 minutes brisk walk from Westminster
Bad:
Wi-fi only worked occasionally
Front desk staff were terrible. At check in there were three staff, only one of which was actually working.
Check out was worse, I had booked two rooms both on the 241 rate, one in my name and one in Mrs 21H21J's name. When I asked to that rooms were charged separtaely and to each account I was told: I had only one room for one night, I had two rooms for one night, I had paid for one night and used points for the other night. Had it not been for the 50k promo I would have let them mess it up and let Amex sort it out.
No elite recognition (even after I asked then to confirm that the reservation had my CC number and elite status showing).

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
For the price paid on the 241 rate it was great value for London. For the normal rate I would strong advise spending more, staying elsewhere and being less disappointed.

It just shows how you can have different experiences at the same property, so to redress the balance a little..

Recent stay in London as part of 50k point promotion.

What is your Club Carlson status?

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Plaza, Riverbank London, UK

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 'Superior room', with e upgrade to Executive room. Asked for lounge access - after a bit of pondering the very charming "Customer Relations" manager said he regreeted that this would not be possible, but would an upgrade to a Suite be acceptable. Afer a bit of pondering I agreed that it would... upgraded to 9th Floor 2 room Suite.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - yes
In-Room Welcome Gift - Chocolate

How are the rooms?
Good size sitting room, leather sofas, full length and height windows with Thames view, separate bedroom with king bed, very good bathroom. 2 TVs. Room in good nick.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Spectacular view
Booked points and cash - Ł50 odd and 15000 points was not bad.
Free wi-fi
Well positioned for Tate, Southbank, and Tate a Tate ferry.
Bad:
Trying to think of something....... Sorry - nothing.

Front desk staff were very good, slick and very professional. As there was a long queue of two tour parties, went to the Club Carlson desk and served in less than a minute. Checkout again at Club Carlson desk, again very quick.

Value for money or Gold Points? Very good. Very comfortable Central London hotel for Ł100 or so, or 15k points and Ł50 odd is brilliant value.
Would you return? Yes. Can't wait

Good use of space. Usual single duvets on double bed. You have to lock the door with your card when leaving. Great view towards the Opera House.

Good:

241 Rate, so reasonable price for Norway. Free breakfast. Next to the central station, providing easy access to the express train to the airport. All staff I met were happy and provided a good service
Bad:
Bit of a scrum at breakfast as it's free, so many people, limited service.
Lifts a bit slow, especially at breakfast times.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
A nice upgrade, good location, nice staff.
Bad:Breakfast nothing to write home about. I would not pay, but as I'm concierge it was free. My parents paid 14e after discussion about price. I don't think it's worth even that.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return? For the rate and considering the upgrade they gave to me, yes, I would return. As with anything in Hungary, be prepared to discuss prices. I had to discuss myself to a free breakfast for my wife who stayed in the same room, and also the breakfast price for my parents (2900 HUF that was the price at the door of the breakfast room is NOT the same as 17€ and also not 14€)

Where did you stay?
Radisson Blu Ambassador, Paris, France.

Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Quite much

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked business room, premium award (2 nights at 75k), receive 1 bed room suite.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary room upgrade, including lounge access / in-room breakfast.
FD Manager walked us to the room and explained facilities, we had a friendly talk about lounge policy in Radisson vs Hilton, full of winks from her side.

Didn't ask about early check-in / late check out.

How are the rooms?
Nice and large (which is nice in Paris).
However, separation to next room was simply a (locked) door, making it not as soundproof as we'd hoped - we could hear the baby next door crying when in the living room, but it was silent from bedroom. Not much of a problem then.

What was good and what was bad?
Room was good.

Lounge was rather good: small but not overcrowded, nice view over Paris (we could have free drink with a view on the Eiffel tower). Limited choice of food (breakfast and evening snacks), but tasty.

Only "bad experience" was the "one touch service" on the phone, which redirected me to another guest's room (who, shamelessly, refused to bring our breakfast ) until I unplugged/replugged the phone.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Quite happy, we'll return.
