Thanks. I tried to search but did not find useful hits until you gave this "Nor1" which returned good material. Now I have it clear.

I just hope as few people as possible use those eUpgrades so that it keeps "complimentary" upgrades alive. I have some upcoming stays where I have not bought eUpgrades, but expecting complimentary ones. I will certainly report here how it goes.

Radisson Blu Yas Island. Booked superior room and got upgrade to business class room with lounge access. Also received a fruit plate.

Booking basic room @ YVR Radisson on BCAA/AAA rate consistently gets a room upgrade, 2000 bonus points ... welcome gift has varied - once was a wine glass full of gummy worms, once a cookie.

Oh and free parking and a rather substantial breakfast buffet for up to 2 (NOT the standard North American free breakfast either).

Radisson Blu Warwick, Philadelphia. Booked friends and family rate. Received chocolate covered pretzel (about the size of a hotel bar of soap) as welcome gift. No room upgrade.

As Gold, all my last stays during 2014 have got one-level upgrade (business class rooms without breakfast though) in Europe
In-room gift as well: fruits or bottlewater or candy

Radisson DCA - standard booking (actually booked accessible room as it was priced lowest, but emailed in advance saying that was unnecessary), got upgraded to Business Class with 2 drinks, 2 breakfasts.

Other than the fact that I used an award booking, I had the exact same experience in Philadelphia. Nothing the first night, no upgrade, then 1 chocolate covered mini pretzel the second day.

I spent 2 nights in the Radisson Blu Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach (Link is my TR) on points.

They gave me a nice upgrade to a junior suite from a "deluxe" room booking.
