Turks & Caicos Fine Dinning

My wife and I are heading to Turks and Caicos just after our 1 year.

We are looking for a romantic place to dine one night with a good view and nice bottle of wine.

Do you have any experiences with nice restaurants in Turks and Caicos? Can you recomend any one in particular? We are staying at the Palms, are there any some what close to the palms that meet the above criteria?

Any help would be appreciated.

After searching Tripadvisor it seems Anacoana & Coyaba are the two great spot to hit.

Are there any personal experiences on this board at either of these restaurants?

Moderator,

Is there a better forum for my post? Maybe you could move it to the dinning forum.

Did you go on your trip yet? If not I've been before and might be able to give some recommendations.

Any one with recommmendations on restaurants in Turks & Caicos? Both family-friendly ones for a newborn, and also more romantic ones for w/o baby? Staying at Grace Bay Club.

Without the baby, Anacoana & Coyaba are good suggestions. I haven't been for a few years so I can't remember which one we liked better but they were both pretty good. For both of those places you will want to make a reservation a few days in advance. Also another place that I remember us liking that's supposed to be romantic is Grace's Cottage. For an amazing view check out Magnolia (especially at sunset). We went there just for a drink a few times. We had dinner there once and it was pretty good too. Both Grace's Cottage & Magnolia would probably be w/o the baby suggestions.

With the baby...Mango Reef. It was one of our favorite restaurants on Grace Bay. Affordable, good selection, good staff. If you have a car a couple other places we liked were Las Brisas (on Chaulk Sound) and Conch Shack. Conch Shack is very casual, right on the water. Las Brisas we only went to lunch so not sure what it's like at night but it's right on Chaulk Sound and has great views.

I just got back from turks and caicos. I would stay far away from the grace bay clubs "fine dining" anacoana it was complete crap. It is extremely over priced and nothing special. My $300 meal there is something I would equate to a $40 meal in NYC. The service around the grace bay club resort is very 50/50 half of the time its really good the other half it feels like your being a bother on the staff requesting something. My biggest regret was staying at the grace bay club and eating at their restaurants.

If your looking for fine dining the best place on the island would be "The Restaurant" at the amanyara if you have a car. Its about a 30 min drive but very very well worth it. It is the most absolutely beautiful environment and very good food. One thing to note however is it is not cheap by any means!

Another spot that is really great on the island is the gansevorts bagatelle or the restaurant at the o`soli resort.

Oh and check your bill very carefully at grace bay club. They tried to pass off some invalid charges on my tab.

Thats perfectly fine. I wore jeans with dress shoes and a nice linen shirt. Just as long as you have something with a collar and no open toe shoes you should be good to go.
