Advice needed for April 2015 trip.

For my wife's 30th birthday next year I would like to surprise her with a luxury trip to the Caribbean. I am not looking to book the trip until the late summer/fall, for travel in April 2015, but part of the fun is planning and I want to make sure to do it right!

-My wife has repeated numerous times to me that the next vacation we take (which will be this one) she just wants to sit on the beach, raise a flag, and order a drink.

so......

-The MOST important thing we are looking for is a nice, pristine, aqua blue beach.

-We are leaving the kid at home and want to spend our time at the resort to just relax on the beach. We aren't looking for eco tours, hiking tours, etc. I am looking for a luxury resort with the best beach possible.

-It doesn't HAVE to be all inclusive but I would consider it if the food selections are good/great or they are good/great if we pay a fee to upgrade. If it is not all inclusive, we wouldn't mind eating some of the meals at the hotel and/or if there are good restaurants a 10-15 minute cab ride away. Also if the resort isn't all inclusive, but they have an executive club with snacks, drinks, etc., I am open to that.

-I don't care about points.

-I would like to avoid Aruba, Dominican Republic, Saint Marten, Jamaica.

-I was thinking Grand Cayman (Ritz-Carlton with a paid Club Level room???), Turks and Caicos, Saint Lucia, Antigua but I want YOUR advice on where we should go with specific hotels on what she wants (which is what I want). I am planning on staying nights and the budget for the room would be around $1500.00 USD per night with an ocean view.

I really appreciate the help and advice! Thank you so very much!

Yes, I do mean $1500.00 a night. Obviously I would like to keep it lower ($500.00-$1000.00 per night would be ideal), but considering it will be our only vacation for a few years I don't mind splurging for her.

I know you said would like to avoid Dominican Republic and I see you budget is max $1,500.00 a night, look Tortuga Bay Boutique Hotel in Punta Cana, it's not AI Hotel.

Wow, this sounds like a trip you do not want muffed up. For that budget, you should consult a travel specialist. Kathy Doyle ([email protected]) specializes in Caribbean and often for honeymoon, destination weddings, or special occasions. Friends had their entire destination wedding arranged at the Live Aqua Cancun which was higher end.
