Jamaica - Which Sandals Resort????

Heading to MBJ in December (flying on F award on US CLE-CLT-MBJ).

I've decided, based on several recommendation from people I know/trust to stay at one of the Sandals Resorts.
However, I'm confused as to which one. Reviews/opinions are "all over the map."
(Am aware of the distances from MBJ for each).

Negril
Ocho Rios (Grande Riveria)
Whitehouse

We're both 50 but very active.
Some would consider us "foodies".

Goal is relaxation, food, wine, etc.

Would appreciate any thoughts/comments from the FT community.

THANKS :D

My own personal favourite is Royal Caribbean - I loved the private island (trying the Royal Bahamian out soon on the back of this). The staff were fantastic and the rooms were excellent.

However since you didnt mention it on your list I can give you my opinion of the others:

Grande Riviera used to be my least favourite (always seems to be cheapest though) as it was a little tired but it has been overhauled and the word back is that it is really nice. My sister is there just now and is having a great stay. There are more eating choices here than at other properties so you dont get tired of the same restaurants. Foodies would love it here.

Negril felt really laid back and the beach was amazing, I do remember that there weren't as many eateries here but the whole experience was very chilled out and relaxing.

Whitehouse is a lovely hotel which seemed to me (although maybe it was just when I was there) to have a slightly older clientele. If you arent looking to sightsee and you arent worried about not using other resorts then this would be my choice to return to - if Royal Caribbean was not an option. It was very romantic and the rooms were all on the beachfront which was great in the morning. The staff were really welcoming and I loved being far from the madding crowds. It was certainly more idyllic than the other properties.

So, if you havent already chosen then my order would be:

Whitehouse

Negril

Grande Riviera (pending return of my sister and her holiday snaps)

If you have any questions then I would be happy to answer, I have been to all of the Jamaica properties, the St Lucia ones and the Grande Antigua.

Kind Regards

L
