What to do--Good Friday in San Juan, PR?
Just realized we're going to be in San Juan for Holy Week......our last full day is Good Friday when most of the businesses will be closed....ugh
What would you suggest we do on this day? Just want to make the most of our vacation....we're only there Tues till Sat.......kind of frustrated I didn't realize this until now.....(no choice anyways since this is spring break for the school district) We might watch some of the religious processions and re-enactments but I can't imagine doing that for most of the day.
Should we stay in San Juan? Drive to a different part of the island?
I was debating on going to the Casa de Bacardi or doing our last day shopping for souvenirs and have a nice last day of eating drinking and relaxing.
Will the bars be open in the evening? Shops? Restaurants?
Thanks for the info!

Anything tourist should be open. Stay in Old San Juan or go to the rainforest. If you're staying in San Juan, I suggest remaining there, since traffic will be a bit heavy with locals going out for the day.

You could greet me at the airport
as I arrive that same day to spend the weekend.
Where are you staying at? that might make a difference, as previously suggested, San Juan will be fine. Go to the beach, spend the day relaxing. A lot of people will be on the road to spend the weekend with their family members, and believe me, you do not want to experience traffic jam in Puerto Rico.

Thanks everyone for the replies!
That's what we thought....just make it a beach/non driving day. I was brought up Catholic so I wouldn't mind witnessing some of their Good Friday events...just not too sure my partner would be as enthusiastic.
We're staying at the Doubletree San Juan. We can grab a drink or something if you're in the area. Send me a PM.
Thanks again!

Tell me what kind of bar, and I'll suggest it. Most (if not all) bars in San Juan will be open that day
My personal preference goes to a hole in the wall beergarden in Old San Juan, but there are PLENTY of choices.

Hmm...I don't drink beer. A good place for mojitos/cocktails would be preferred
