Traveling with meat
We are flying to the Caribbean via AA in November. We would like to take Cryovaced meat. Can we carry on or pack in suitcases?

I don't think you'll have a problem bringing it on the plane. You may have a problem with agriculture inspection at your destination, however. Best to check web site for country you are traveling to regarding rules on what you can/can not bring in.

what's your destination?

We will be flying to Antigua.

Legal importation requires an import permit, a health certificate, and veterinary inspection of the meat upon arrival.
Illegal importation.... I won't advise you on :) |

Import Requirements for Fresh or Frozen Meat and other Animal ProductsFresh or Frozen Meat in any quantity, require an Import License, issued by the Ministry of Trade and signed by the Veterinary & Livestock Division and the Ministry of Trade. The Import License indicates that a Health Certificate must accompany the products. The Veterinary Inspector will inspect the products on arrival at the port. Feel free to contact the Veterinary and Livestock Division at phone/fax (268) 460-1759 or [email protected] for more information. Coming from the UK you cannot bring any meat in your luggage: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-...uirements&pg=4 |
If you need protein, you can find lots of fresh fish in Antigua.
