Destination Assistance Requested for Adult Group

Mother is having a milestone birthday, and we are trying to arrange an enjoyable trip for her in May. She would like to see "blue ocean" like in parts of the Caribbean.

Total of 8-10 adults (3 generations), some from East Coast and some from Rockies. Most are not heavy drinkers, so not looking for a party atmosphere. Some want nice beaches, others want activities like day hiking in forests etc. Some cultural activities are OK. Trip will probably be about 5 days, so no more than 2 locations. Mid-range accommodations in a safe area. A few of us are foodies, but all would be OK with decent food.

That's the "wish list." Any particular locations you would recommend that we look at (or avoid looking at)? Thanks for your help.

How about Puerto Rico? San Juan for culture and beaches (many more around) and The rain forest for hiking etc.
No passport needed

You could stay local (day trips) or even drive one time around the island. Plenary of beaches/ history everywhere

I love Barbados. Lots of things to do, lots of indigenous culture, hikes, diving, beaches, great restaurants, etc.
