So - where does CP land its metal nowadays?

I am not sure where CP goes anymore. The CP web site says they have expanded their destinations but of course the reality is that it is Air Canada that has expanded.

In one way, the takeover by Air Canada has at least allowed Canadian registered aircraft to actually fly those routes which they are licensed to fly but did not - Australia is a pefect example of this.

BUT can anyone tell me where CP flies it's metal so I know where I can use those red and grey upgrade stickers.

Still various domestically flights in the west. YVR-YYC/YEG for one.

Otherwise, I think it's mostly the existing Pacific routes from/to Vancouver

CP has expanded some it's routes due to competition concerns with NW and US at their hubs (using F28 aircraft instead of CRJs) on YYZ-CLT, YYZ-RDU, YYZ-DTW, YOW-EWR, YYZ-MSP and 737 or A320 service on YUL-MIA, YYZ-MIA, YYZ-MSY, YYZ-ORL, YYZ-LGA, YYZ-EWR, YYZ-IAH, YYC-IAH, YYZ-DFW, YVR-DFW, YVR-ORD, YVR-LAX, YVR-SFO, YEG-ORD, YEG-LAX, YYC-LAX...and 767 service still on YVR-LHR, YYC-LHR, YOW-LHR, YHZ/YYT-LHR, YYZ-EZE/GRU and MILAN/ROME service from YYZ and YUL. If I have missed some of the international/transborder destinations perhaps someone will add them.

Interesting, so AC has given the YHZ-LHR route to CP. FWIW, there are no CP YVR-LAX flights; only codeshares on AC and presumably AS (7000-series flights) in August.

i know, i was trying to do a trip from lax-fco with miles, and the only way i could do it was for 85k miles; ac from lax-yyz, and cp from yyz-fco.

would these two freakin' merge already, and stop trying to gouge the consumer in the meantime.

terenz,

Not only that but some of the YVR-SFO routes are 737s which are a "CP codeshare of Air Canada flight operated by Canadian Airlines for Air Canada"! Didn't CP wet-lease some planes to AC? I've been wondering whether these are considered CP or AC metal for use of 1999 upgrade stickers -- I assume AC!

BTW, remember AC originally announced YVR-LAX would become 4xAC and 1xCP per day (all A320) and I suggested the one CP flight was so AA could codeshare on it and AC could keep AA from codesharing on the AC flights (which I believe was the arrangement if there were no CP flights)? Now (that the codeshare is over, I think) it's 4xAC and 0xCP!
