Moncton: Security can be slow
A heads up for anyone departing from Moncton (YQM): There is only a single security lane for all passengers. Normally, that is not a problem as most planes flying from YQM are small.
However, they do have larger planes departing from YQM at times. Especially NewLeaf-marketed flights are usually very full. That's 170 passengers. If they only take 1 minute each, it takes three hours to process them.
If you are on a large plane, or a large plane is scheduled around the time of your flight, it would be a good idea to add extra time for the security lineup. Even as a status passenger, as there is no priority line.
BTW: The only airside shop is a Tim Hortons. And the wait there can be surprisingly long as well - although they work hard.
