Tired of airport limo terrors - YUL/YYZ seeking referral

Just in from YYZ to downtown. 135 km/h on the Gardiner, transmission in the Town Car felt like it was about to fall out at any moment, driver totally rude. I love flying, but getting to/from the airport is becoming the worst part of the whole ordeal. Had a great driver in YYC for a few years that I'd email to arrange pickups/dropoffs (referral available - PM me), but travel patterns have recently changed now commuting YYZ/YUL (and limo experiences in both cities have proven disastrously the same). If anyone's got anyone they can refer in either city that is safe and courteous with a nice car, I'd be grateful!

135 km/h on the Gardiner? Please post the time of the commute. I'm happy if I can do 50 km/h and on the 401 25 km/h is good going. But yes I agree the rail link can't happen soon enough. I'd rather drive my own car to the airport and pay $150/week than put my life in the hands of the inveterate brake tappers and their 15 year old Lincolns.

I've never had a problem with Airline Limo: http://airlinelimo.com/. I've been using them for 15 years, and they've always been 100% reliable in all weathers, and despite other obstacles.

Then you can take your dogsled to the airport 8 months of the year

but seriously, 135 on the Gardiner (speed limit 90) - apart from like 4am - I cant imagine the time when one would be even be able go that fast because of traffic. If you are doing 80 during the day, its a miracle.

Since I visited Bangkok and took the taxi on multiple occasions I´ve become much less worried when getting into a taxi in the Western world.

+1 We've also used that company for probably longer then 15 years, and they've never shown up late for pickups, and we always look for their "FLY" license plates at the airport terminals for rides home. While I don't think they've made it to 135kph yet, they do make "good time" in getting us to and from the airport. Competitive rates by zone, but now add a $2.00 fuel surcharge.

Bangkok is timid - try Dhaka or Cairo

A lot of YYZ cabbies have some experience driving in the subcontinent - and that requires SKILL - so I am never worried

135 km/h was around 6pm today (along the stretch thru Etobicoke where the limit is 100).

LOL - I have also experienced the BKK and FCO limo rides at 160 km/h which of course make 135 seem slow.

And yes, what's with the brake tapping?!?! They seem to treat the gas/break pedals as on/off switches!

Thanks for the referrals

No thanks.

As egoistic as it may sound, I intend to spend a few more years travelling the world instead of being killed in a car accident in Egypt or while backpacking in the Congo, as interesting as those places may be, sorry.

From the bottom floor take TTC 192 bus to Kipling station then subway for $3.00. I can guarantee it won't hit 135 km/h.

The Congo doesnt appeal to me

Once in Bulgaria, I had a barefoot cab driver do about 150km on the highway, as he sped by many cops with radars, he would just point to them and say "my friend". In Russia, where any car is an impromptu cab - I've had some interesting rides around Moscow, especially in the middle of the night leaving the clubs.

I think Bangladesh and India have been the worst tho.

Buy, and fly on, a J or F ticket with EK (and EY), to and from YYZ/DXB (and AUH), and your limousine is already included within YYZ. I have heard they use Mercedes-Benz, BMW, or other luxury cars for transporting you to and from YYZ!!! Problem solved!!!!

On a related question, are EK and EY the only airlines in YYZ that offer complimentary limousine for their J and F passengers?
