Travel deal websites - tell me more!
travelzoo is one of the largest. as for the others, I'd generally steer clear. you can usually get better rates off those "special daily deal" sites.

That did cross my mind. I'm not interested in the kayak's and expedia's of the world. I'm interested in websites that really go the extra mile, to present some unreal deals.

And what ones have you found? Is this for a Blog or article?

Yep, the mileage run section on FT is great, but primarily if you're US-based. There other deals on there too, however, so it pays to check it out from time to time.
Two other websites that might interest you are "Secret Flying" and "Fly4Free".
Then there's also Pelikan.sk. This website is Slovakian, although somewhere there was once an English flag to click on to translate it all into English. In any case, if you can work out the city names, it might help to get you started - check the dates and flights and destinations against IATA, for example. There are often some good intra-EU and ex-EU flights advertised.
Aside from that, keep an eye out on the frequent flyer blogs around here which often list mileage runs and the like.

One that hasn't been mentioned yet is holiday pirates. I use that one sometimes for inspiration. And indeed the mileage run forum, the travel blogs of for example boardingarea, Bart Lapers and others.

Secret Flying are a bunch no talent thieves. Everything they post is from here or from other blogs and they don't give credit. Don't believe me? Check their posts and then look for the same fare in the MR deals forum. Guess which one is posted first.

What I do, I follow some travel companies on FB, and they tend to post the deals daily. I've also joined some last-minute groups on FB. All is happening on FB, since I hate to clutter my e-mail box with promotions.

No, you are right. But then again, most blogs basically steal from the forums. If you are looking for good deals though without the forums, one has to admit it is a good place.

DealRay isn't bad, I'm trying it now. They send you a text whenever there's a bargain deal. Right now I just got a text about Frontier Deal:
Frontier Spring Sale: Fly Either Way Between NYC-MIA for $69, Chi. ORD-LAX or -Vegas for $79, Wash. IAD to West Palm for $39 and More!
Frontier Spring Sale
Right now Frontier is having a spring sale for a variety of destinations (44 cities) that they fly to for flights booked by March 5th and flown March 9th-April 29th. These could get you a cheap spring break getaway or save on flights to a cool conference in March or April.
Some highlights below, or check the link and select your city from the dropdown to book.
Fares are one-way, good in either direction.
New York LGA to/from:
Miami MIA - $69
Denver DEN - $79
Chicago ORD to/from:
Los Angeles LAX: $79
Las Vegas LAS: $79
Phoenix PHX: $58.10
Austin AUS: $59
Tampa TPA: $49
Miami: $69
Orlando: $69
Washington IAD to/from:
West Palm Beach, FL PBI - $39
Ft. Myers, FL RSW - $39
Chicago ORD - $39
Orlando MCO - $49
Atlanta ATL - $49
Las Vegas LAS - $79
Los Angeles LAX to/from:
Denver DEN - $59
Chicago ORD - $69
San Francisco SFO to/from:
Denver DEN - $69
-
Also, follow certain handles on Twitter is a good technique.
