And now merged into one thread after it was moved here from Mileage Run Deals forum ... but I repeat myself.

You don't need to visit their branch, it can be done over the phone. I've confirmed this with the local branch.

I was at one of their branches this morning and waited about 40 minutes in line (they put out chairs) to speak with the agent. It was $590AI if your flights left M-Th. Otherwise, you paid an additional $25 each way for weekend travel. The carrier was indeed AA if you flew out of NYC.

I called up NY. Got through within 5 minutes. They forwarded me to a non-Japanese guy.

For dates April 5-21. Price was $550. But AA and DL only. I was interested in Star Alliance carrier, so I turned it down.

The noise in the background was crazy and the guy had to go quick so I didn't get to ask about mileage.

Went to the DC office at 9am, only 2 people (representing a big family group) were there before me. They only had 1 person taking in walk ins, the rest were on the phone (constant calls).

got AA coach class S.
If I understand the charts right I'm allowed one 18Kg carry on + personal item and 2 23Kg checked baggage s......... thats a lot of space to bring back stuff from japan (first trip).

Had a nice and informative hour and a half chat with the female intern as well. They also handed out 7andi atm tissue paper.

I think I saw your guy, and he was the only non-Japanese guy. The NY office was taking one person at a time while the call center was heavily staffed. I wished I'd called instead of going down, but with my luck, I wouldn't haven got through within 5 minutes.

Went to the one outside of chicago, mine are AA booked in S inventory. The guy said it is sort of a "while supplies last" thing, so keep trying if you missed it, they might still have tickets at these prices. For the record I paid $560a/i

Received an email yesterday from IACE (in Japanese) extending the sale this whole week in apology for their phone system being overwhelmed by calls on 2/20. YMMV.
