I thought it may fit better here than "Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs" as they dont appear to have a frequent flyer program.

Terrible news. Devastating for all the families involved, and so very hard for those who lose their children abroad when travelling (as seems to be the case with a number here).

Numerous foreign nationals aboard according to the BBC, including French, Australians, and Americans.

It's a common airline for tourists to take in Laos as there aren't many options.

Condolences to the families, how very sad for them.

I flew Lao last month and was surprised how new their aircraft were and that when flights came in at VTE a heavyset foreign guy come out to inspect each plane before it left again. We also had a foreign pilot on of our segments. Don't know if he as on duty or doing training but we had a good impression of the airline.

Lao is a regional full service airline, not a budget airline, and this does not belong in this forum.
