Exclamation OpenSkies Offers The Best Business Class Fares NYCPAR -- Guaranteed!

Most airlines nowadays offer a Best Fare Guarantee, but I haven't seen one like this before: OpenSkies is guaranteeing that it will have the best business class fare for your trip between New York and Paris. If you find a lower business class fare, even on another airline, OpenSkies will give you the difference, plus an additional $100. Pretty awesome!

For full details, see https://www.flyopenskies.com/docs/press/PR%20090809.pdf.

Except that the guarantee takes the form of a voucher redeemable against future travel. So you could only make use of it if you bought another Openskies ticket.

BINGO!!! That's the irony about the crapy marketing ploy from BA.

I think this is much more than mere a 'marketing ploy'. AFAIK, this is the first time an airline has publicly offered to beat their competitors' fares. Yes, the difference is refunded as a voucher. So what?

Personally, I think this Guarantee is great. I'm looking forward to booking on OpenSkies knowing that I'm guaranteed to get the best fare in the market. OpenSkies!

Well, BA will only refund the difference if you spend even more money with them. So, we will only match a competitor's fare and refund you the, say, $100 difference if you agree to commit to spend an extra $1500 or $3000 with us. And then, only if the difference is not too much (not more than $500).

This is not how best fare guarantees normally work.

I suppose not, but again, this isn't a 'normal' best fare guarantee. With a 'normal' best fare guarantee, AA (for instance) guarantees that you'll find the lowest AA fare on AA.com. The OpenSkies Best Fare Guarantee, on the other hand, guarantees that OpenSkies offers the lowest fare in the market -- much more useful, if you ask me. And if you're a frequent traveller to Paris on OpenSkies like me, getting the difference in the form of a voucher isn't an issue.
