The rules around changing redemption or BA miles bookings have recently been changed. You can now make changes to any flight with 24 hours notice.....

I guess the ambiguity stems from the word any above.
"You could change your return flight as long as we do have the 24 hours notice" would not have been possible under the previous conditions, which rendered bookings inflexible 24 hrs before outbound travel.
Secondly, I was told this by two different agents from the You First/ GGL/ Premier team, BA's crème de la crème, verbally and later in writing. Another YF agent has since emailed again, clarifying that these changes do not apply to Amex voucher bookings, however.
Curiouser and curiouser. It definitely seems that things have changed, but official confirmation would be very welcome.

I had it confirmed this morning...
Spoke to an agent (Gold line) and she confirmed it all.
Told me they had just changed the rules and one can indeed change the return on a redemption ticket even after the outbound had been flown.
Is it possible some of our BA lurkers here are not up to date...?

I thought that although YF and GGL were the same team, Premier is different, specifically they get Special Services. Or is this only for handling pax at the airport itself?
They're all the same Priority Assistance team up in Manchester (now also doing the CWLC stuff too). Different on the ground...though as GGL in and outside of F, my experiences would point to Special Services on the ground being a myth anyway
Does this also apply to bookings made outside of the UK? I just flew my first flight from BDA-LGW arriving yesterday and I would like to change my return flight. I have just spoken to the executive club in the USA and they said I couldn't do it. So I hot footed it onto this webiste to see if that was the case and was therefore very excited to see this thread. Mine is a redemption booking - does that make it outside of the rules, or is it because I am not in the UK?
I am not a member of BA staff, but I have just successfully changed the first return leg of a multi-leg journey with the two outbound legs having been already flown. I spoke to three agents on the reservations line via the BAEC number as I had to check timings, etc, and none disputed that this was now possible. The change went through and as I couldn't do it online, the fee was waived.
This is an excellent change of policy which is particularly welcome with regard to 50%-off bookings (which I have also found to be re-routable: I recall there was some speculation at the time).
Unfortunately for me I was pointed in the direction of the BA website where it does say that changes cannot be made after 24 hours of flying the first leg. I am still very unappy about especially as there is reward avaliability for the 3 days I could fly. I also asked if I could fly economy or pay a fee and they said NO! I mean really....surely they could have done something!!
I just got off the phone with BAEC UK customer service, and they told me that if you upgrade with miles you can change the ticket before the flight or mid travel and that it is subject to a 70 pound fee plus the difference in fare. The part I didn't like was that if there is no availability in your upgraded cabin, you have to go in the cabin you originally paid to go into and they don't refund your miles. I really hope the agent was wrong on that one, but I don't think she was...
Hope that info helps, and that its relevant to this specific situation. I am always so confused by BA.
