I can assure you that my expenses are only a fraction ( 9/10 is a fraction, isn't it?) of the combined expenses of the rest of my office.

Yes, but what about the trials? Did anyone manage to photograph them then?

Or perhaps someone knows the name of the manufacturer who might have a picture on their website?

Hello from Galleries South

Initial Impressions:

Only had carry-on so went directly to pre-security at the South end (North was much busier). 5 minutes to clear.

Fast Track security was quite smooth with 10 minute wait. Would have been 3 if not for the inredible stupid arrangement as has been widely covered in here.

Strolled past some shops on my way to South Galleries Complex. Nice building. The Departures hall remind me of CDG 2F.

Lounge Ladies very cheerful when entering.
South Lounge is very nice i must say. Huuuuge Plenty of seats, smooth decor, plenty of bars, good selection of drinks and food. The views are fantastic. You can see London City Skyline, reminds me a little of the views of Manhattan seen from certain angles at JFK.

Typically my flight is delayed 30 minutes. This is the only let down so far.

Guess I will have time for another glass of Champanska, watching take-offs on the south RWY

I just saw an AF 777 take off? Open Skies agreement?

All right, I am really enjoying this lounge.

Having gone for a look around after the second glash of Champers I am becoming really rather impressed with this little facility

I quite like how on the north end of Galleries South you look down on the common folk in the main departures hall

By the Cinema/work area the temperature is freezing while by the area overlooking south RWY it is warm and cousy.

I am starting to imagine F lounge must be something very special. Time for some CE trips to hit Gold.

In fact, I will go as far as saying: If no real time constraints on the other end of flights I am happy to take delays to just enjoy The Galleries

Nice touch with the oldie BOAC posters.

On the other hand, Galleries North tonight was a zoo. Fairly full with people, but it looked as if the debris had last been cleared up since February. There wasn't a surface that wasn't covered in discarded plates, cups and glasses and the like. Newspapers were also in very short supply unless you were happy to search amongst the assorted detrius for a crumpled copy of something.

Not a place to spend time in to relax.

Good to see the standards have been maintained from T1/4.

Which is why it always bugs me when they turn off the film I'm watching to show an 'arrival' video. How complicated can it be to follow the signs saying 'Arrivals' or 'Flight Connections'!

Longhaul shifts to T5 - update anyone??

Hello FTers. My first post, but have been lurking here a while. Please be gentle. As per prh's query, which to my inspection was the last raised on the subject [?]

Does anyone have any insider information on this yet? Surely the phasing over of flights is crucial to the ongoing experience one will have at T5, impacting on queues both in and out, baggage trouble, delays parking at the gate and even, oh dear, how crowded those lounges and arrival spas get And then there's the impact to The Airport itself with the knock on airline shuffles.

My own self interest is with intin of outbound to SEA 18 June and arrival back from BOS 11 July. No connections at LHR so it's not like I'll be put in a hard spot by schlepping to T4, but just curious nonetheless. Thanks for any news.

Hi NoTiersForMe,

Welcome to flyertalk and the BA forum!

Nothing has been announced yet ( not even a rumor about which routes or the exact timescale). I doubt anything would be announced until we are into May but as they say on the news, stay tuned for futher developments.

I am thinking about a CW fare in early July with BA but do not know if the T4 flights will move by then ( I would be connecting from EDI) and I have a flight to PHX in August ( again I have to book a connecting flight from EDI and if it is in T4 then I have to book a longer connecting time)

Regards
TBS

Flying ex T4 to JFK on Wed, what a pleasure. Arrived at 515pm and was able to get on to the earlier BA 179 (605 pm departure) and through Fastrack in two minutes. No need to even bother with the lounge (my waist doesn't need the delicious finger sandwiches anyway ).

If it could always be this easy
