And just to remind everyone what we're missing over at T4, arrived today on one of the non cancelled JFK flights. Took about 30 minutes to get to stand because of usual reasons (landing at wrong side of the airport, roadworks in the middle of the taxiway, blah blah) then another 40 minutes for luggage to start coming out. Not impressive. At least the terminal wasn't too busy.
And I observed a shiny CO 767 at T4 that must have just come in from EWR. Ahem...

So in some sense the clueless "Can I help you" guy was actually right, there is no fast track to speak of.
Was that no there wasn't or no there was?? I find double negatives confusing...

Great News
BA chief executive Willie Walsh today claimed passengers had written to him praising the disastrous Terminal 5.
He made the boast as he issued yet another apology for the chaos which has engulfed the £4 billion building.
He claimed people had “loved” the terminal and added: “I still believe in a year's time I'll tell you what a success T5 was.”
He told Sky News: “We've had about 200,000 people go through T5. I know the press will portray this as Heathrow chaos. But for many of those people it will have been a pleasant experience and I remain very confident that Terminal 5 will deliver.”
I have the impression that fast track stickers are in short supply. This may well be why there is no enforcement but it should be rectified easily.
Stickers should not be the way. There's one airline, consistent boarding passes and very few coloured bits of plastic to recognise. Train the staff! Stickers mean extra stops if you've PYOBP. When I went through on Sunday FastTrack was in evidence at North Security but when I was asked "Business or First?" I said "Gold" (I was travelling domestic) and was waved through without any evidence. Got stuck behind families at both of the FastTrack lines (buggies do not go well with the new security) but saw them both in the F lounge afterwards so guess they were there validly.
I had the opportunity to try out T5 this morning connecting from T4.. It went relatively smoothly..
On my flight from Toronto, I was given a connection guide which stated that it would take 120 minutes to connect from T4 to T5 wow, that's a long time! I was contemplating clearing immigration when I arrived in T4 and taking a cab to T5 to shorten the connect time. I spoke to some FA's on flight, and they told me that the connection should not take 120 minutes and that I would be better off going through FCC (Flight Center Connection).
The result: It took 30 minutes... There was a long queue to board the bus to go to T4, but it went quickly with lots of buses...
I found the normal security line faster than FAST TRACK (which is located at the other end of the hall.!
pS..I like the fact that you no longer have to take out your laptop and put it in a separate bin for security.
Interesting - went out on BA25 on 27th March (I may have mentioned elsewhere my luggage didn't...) and I had to get my laptop out for security. When asked why advised the new rules of not getting laptop out of case only applied to T1 - T4

Oh for crying out loud!! When will these security goons learn to apply a consistent set of rules, however ineffectual. I'm surprised there aren't daily scenes of "security rage".

On the 27th, they told me that "laptops out" was for that day only. Huh?
However some lanes were shoes on, and others shoes off. At least that is consistent.
Does anyone know how long it takes and if it's a PIA to get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5? Can you stop along the way, say get a bite to eat from T2 to your connecting flight or must you go directly to T5?
