From bmi website:

we’re opening a brand new bmi international lounge next to Gate 5. Gold diamond club members travelling on longhaul flights will be able to relax with a wider range of facilities in the new STAR departure lounge from June 2008.

is this bmi lounge at gate 5 the old ba domestic?

BA have updated their Terminal 5 website with a flashy Flash guide to the lounges:

Nice find! Very swish.

Now I've had a trawl through, they really do look impressive. And HUGE! Can't wait to see them in the flesh.

The website doesn't seem to be working as smoothly as it was yesterday. They're probably still tinkering with it.

Still working fine here. One nice touch that I didn't notice yesterday - the clock on the welcome screen is showing live time.

Does Emerald traveling on Domestic flights gain Galleries First entry?

So far is there any latest news for OW Emerald benefits in T5?

Yes - although the main lounge complex is at the opposite end of the terminal from the domestic gates, which is why there's an additional Galleries Club (J lounge) at the North end by the domestic gates.

I think Emerald get to use the F check-in (South end of the terminal), and fast-track security (one at each end).

I think you mean Emeralds?

Sapphires get a big fat nothing in T5.

Yes. Silly me.

They do, of course, get lounge access still.

Lots of the lounges appear to be quite separated in places - especially in Galleries FIRST and the Concorde Room - there seems to be automatic glass doors...what's this for...noise?

There are doors (and glass walls) between the terrace area and the main lounges for the CCR and F lounge. The F and J lounges also have glass parititions to break the space up - Galleries south also has some fab Imperial and BOAC memorabilia.

I assume the 'terrace' areas (F/CCR only?) are external to the main lounge areas but still internal to the terminal building? So you get to lord it over the great unwashed below?

It looks like the CCR and Galleries F are on the same level as the departures area, and that Galleries Club is one floor up?

What are the views of the apron like?

Hi,

Yes, the " terrace areas" are internal to the terminal building.

The lounges, sorry , " Galleries " , look very impressive.

PS Where is the spa?

Regards
