Do Hotlines really qualify for TPs?

I know this was discussed a couple of weeks ago here, but I just priced-up a ET LHR-AMS return on ba.com and the Hotline site and when the option to upgrade to CE is presented, ba.com reads:

"Upgrade on both outbound and inbound flights from Ł125 per person, earn an additional 1250 BA Miles and 80 Tier Points"

whereas the Hotline site reads:

"Upgrade on both outbound and inbound flights from Ł113 per person"

No mention of TPs whatsoever on the Hotline site, but interestingly it says "Purchase this fare and you will be invited to join the Executive Club", which leads me to believe that TPs will be available as initial qualification for BAEC requires a minimum of 20.

Could this be because the original flight has a big red "D" next to the price indicating a discounted flight?

Can anyone confirm that they have received the TPs for similar flights?

I think you get miles and TPs on Hotlines if they are 'simple' Hotlines (i.e. a standard 10% off what BA.com would give you) and in an eligible booking class.

Special Offer Hotlines (much much cheaper than BA.com) don't as they normally are Y fares booked into deep deep discount.

(PS this could all be rubbish)

I don't think that you do. I think that Hotlines get ba miles, but I have never heard of them getting tier points.

I've just had it confirmed that TPs and miles are awarded if they are booked in an eligible class.

Yes they do. The hotline tickets that I have flown on have always given me TPs and airmiles. I even got the triple airmiles when flying in J a couple of times when BA were running that particular promotion!

Thanks all, looks like a yes then! ^

BahrainLad, I haven't got my head around all this flight class business yet, but would I be right to assume that this particular CW fare would book into an eligible class?

Well, more experienced members will probably confirm that all Club fare codes get TPs and Miles so should be the same for hotlines.

Unless it has changed, I received correct TPs and miles for WT Plus hotline to SFO 2.5 years ago.

Agreed - I believe that as they are classified as commercial tickets, they receive miles and TP as per the booked class. WT+ and Club World are fine, IME.

I think that the standard hotline fares:

Economy books into O class
WTP books into T class
Club books into I class
First books into A class.

As such, you would get miles at discount rate for economy, but full miles for the others.
You would get TPs for WTP and above.

However, if the price is high and you are hitting the full commercial fare levels, then I do not know what they book into.
