Exchanging Marriott Points for Tesco CC and BA Miles

Sorry to ask the obvious, but I do not see anywhere in points.com a reference to Marriot Rewards programme upon registering.

D*mn, just the other day I transferred 125,000 MR points direct to 50,000 BA miles. Sounds like I made a bit of a mistake, missed out on 34,000 BA miles, wish I had read this first.

It's not on points.com per se. Marriott simply uses points.com for processing, as they have the IT in place. BA is the same - if you buy BA Miles, your credit card is charged as points.com, even though you cannot do anything with BA inside points.com itself.

hmm so if you are a bit short on your Amex 2-4-1 spend it would be a good way of getting lots of miles and reaching the £10k spend .....

Hence I would have thought this route has the same principles as buying from BA; its good if you need to top your mileage up for a specific flight, but not worth buying for the sake of it.
I have ignored Amex 241, because as you are allowed only 1 per year and you can make 100kBAMiles quite easily for free just shopping online at tesco, this will already have been used.

I can't help thinking there must be a snag here, but I can't think of one so far. I suppose the only problem is that you need to convert the full 125,000 MR points to get the best Tesco rate.

I have received my 99k.
I joined Marriott Rewards on Friday evening and then applied for the 99k. The points are in my account this morning.
I used my BMI CC.

Cost benefit
It works for me. For example, 1500 USD spend via Marriott points gets me around 100,000 BA miles. So, say 800 GBP plus 450 GBP in tax/charges/etc and a two for one gets two Club transatlantic flights.
Each to his own, now, off to FRA to buy some WTP tickets....

if you are converting them to Tesco I would get this done pretty quickly as its the "end of quarter" soon. Tesco will only convert to BA once a quarter so you dont want to be waiting for months to get your Miles.
