ULTIMATE BA Upgrade Discussion/Experiences Thread

Welcome to the new 'ULTIMATE BA Upgrade Discussion/Experiences Thread'. This thread is designed to go alongside the new:

ULTIMATE BA Upgrade Guide - For All Your Upgrade Questions!

thread. That one is locked so it doesn't become too overwhelming for new posters. It is designed to be 'catch-all' FAQ about the dreaded U-word In this thread, we can all ask new questions, share experiences and 'success' stories and hopefully weed out any new useful FAQs to make their way in to the 'master' FAQ over time.

Take it away, proud winner of the first 'new' OpUp...

Very kind, MCS?, thanks But I just tried to distil down what was already out there in the old thread to make it a bit more digestible...and of course, I had expert help from Jenbel and Shuttle-Bored reviewing it before I dared post too ^

Have you got your cattle prod warmed up for the first person to not notice it at the top of the page and start a new thread?

Confused by one thing...the thread mentions that you can't use a lounge if receiving an opup...I used the lounges on my last flight after going from WT+ to CW. Did you just mean you cant use an F lounge if going from J to F?

Technically you cannot use lounge on an op-up to J, however I beleive the only way you would not get it is if (and this happened to me pre Silver) they write on your boarding card NO LOUNGE- or the likes of that. or the lounge reception reads all the notes in your booking

G-BOAC great new thread! ^

G-BOAC - a fine piece of work. ^

Re: Lounge access, I've had an upgrade from the SCSI machine and thought I would be able to get into the CR. However they dragon checked my res, scrawled Invol UG on it and sent me downstairs.

I've had lounge access a couple of times when moved from Y- and WT+ to CW. Lounge dragon did say something along the lines of 'well you shouldn't really, but I will let you in as my guest this time...'
