Whilst boarding at JFK for a flight back to LHR, caught a glimpse of Roger Moore. Sure enough it was him as later on in the flight did an announcement, giving it the old, Bond, James Bond line, asking for money for UNICEF, something about him being an ambassador for them.
In that case, going on celebrity announcements, perhaps it really was the guy out of Little Britain who plays wheel chair un-bound Andy who was saying "I wan' tha' one" and "yeah h'know" after my last BA flight from JNB to LHR had reached the gate at LHR? At the time, I initially thought it was one of the FAs .

My very own top 40:
I was once in the LHR T1 lounge at the same time as a Mr Phil Collins, who was availing himself of the whiskey and being very polite with the numerous people who approached him for an autograph (I was not one of them). As it turned out, he was on the same flight as me from LHR to GVA (duh! he lives here!), but I was one class behind him in those days.
Fast forward 10 years to 2003, without departing from the Genesis of this thread, and I shared a sparsely populated upper deck with Peter Gabriel and entourage (including daughter) from LHR to SFO. I had been a great fan of his for some 20 years, but was crushed to discover he reads the Daily Star and has really small feet. Fortunately, my state of fandom was restored by seeing him and, inter alia, Ms Gabriel perform a superb set at the Nyon Paleo festival (www.paleo.ch) a year later.
I spotted Damon Hill in the First lounge at LGW many years ago. I'm sure he's sick of people telling him how much smaller he looks in person than on the telly. So I didn't say anything.
To be a good celeb spotter, you have to know who to spot. On a flight from SIN to LHR last year, I was breathlessly informed by some cabin crew and fellow pax that the "Black Eyed Peas" were on board after having received awards at the MTV Asia Awards or something. Unfortunately, I had no idea who they were, although I've since resolved my ignorance issues. FWIW, I was on the upper deck, and "the one with the hair" (as a fellow pax put it) was on the lower deck.
More recently I was informed in excited tones by a fellow pax in Ukraine International business class that the distinguished gentleman with white hair sitting a row behind us and on the other side of the aisle was none other than Leonid Kravchyk (sp.?), the former president of Ukraine. This was on PS from VIE to KBP. Leonid was met by a large number of minders, but he disembarked and went through passport control/baggage reclaim/customs with the rest of us.
Back in the old days I flew Concorde three times in all, and on none of those occasions did I spot any celebs. Everyone looked like a banker (except for me, of course).
I heard a story a few years ago about Jeffrey Archer at JNB demanding to be allowed into the F lounge but being chucked out because he only has a Silver card and was travelling in J. Is this an urban myth or is there some substance to it?

If it isn't it didn't happen at JNB as there is only a single lounge for F/J (as indeed at almost all outstations).
I sat with Oasis and their entourage in Club Europe on a flight from Berlin to London in March 2003. After recent news stories, I was expecting to see some bad behaviour from Liam Gallagher but he slept for most of the flight - presumably things were rather hectic in Berlin! They were surprisingly down-to-earth and received no special treatment in Berlin or London.
Flew back from LAX about 3 weeks ago & we had Scarlett Johanssen in F.
Sat in the F lounge at LAX I could hear this very loud woman on her mobile, but had no idea who she was. She was so loud that the staff in the lounge felt it necessary to apologise to us. Guessed she must be famous/v rich when I saw her get an escort to the plane & noted that she was talking on a mobile with diamonds all over it!
The people in front of us in the queue to board said it was her & this was confirmed when I saw a picture of her in my paper on the flight.
Flying to JFK last November, bumped in to (nearly) Nigel Havers + pretty blonde lady + Special Services fusser at the T4 Terraces bag check. No idea why he was in the Terraces not FIRST lounge/Concorde room. That is as 'celeb' as I get, I think. I am not upset by this fact
Oh, I also think I sat in front of Alan Corran (sp?) of 'Call My Bluff' fame on a NCE-LHR a few years back. That one is unconfirmed though.
Brian Adams on the BA84 from Vancouver last Wednesday.
That would be Dr. Brian Adams, P.E. Assistant Professor, Ph.D. University of Illinois , whose research is in Embedded Sensors and Control Systems, Vehicle Mobility & Alternative Fuels ? About time scientists were given more celeb status! I'm trying to convince my fiancee to do one of those reality/docu-soap programs with her dept.!

And I saw the BAA girl who was the "personal shopping assistant" as portrayed in Airport of a few years ago. Corrinne her name or something - the one who would be filmed taking some pax at breakneck speed from T1 to T3 in 45 seconds to buy his wife some of her favourite perfume. Then they would be shown just making it back to the departing gate as the airbridge was being withdrawn
Does this count as a celebrity sighting?. Or does it make me a chav for watching Airport and even remembering the girls name?
