Nope. The maximum weight of a single bag is 32kg to the EU.

Same thing happened to us earlier this year traveling BA F LHR-BKK.

Two of our bags were around 2kg over the 32kg limit.....had to shift the weight on the spot at the check-in counter. The agent advised that the belt wouldn't work until the weight was reduced.

luckily, we didn't inconvenience anyone - as we were the only one in the queue.

Jon Sopel from Baltimore last night in CW. Had a bus arrival, spotted he has a gold card bag tag, no flyertalk tag though.

Not sure if he's back at work today to justify the extravogant flight, or if he had been bumped up like me - very busy in WTP, plenty of space in CW.

On the lounge entry list he had VIP written next to his name???

John Cleese in 5E on todays 282 from LAX. Couldn't use the private room in the OW LAX First lounge and had to sit with us 'plebs'. Whisked away by the SS lady upon arrival at LHR. And yes he really is that tall in real life!

Yes Ive seen VIP printed beside people names on their BA boarding passes. Not sure who or what you have to be to have this "status" though

I have seen it once on a passenger list Mr Kofi Annan Gold and then I think it was also written VIP
Not sure what it does to have it printed on BP, in case the counter don't give them the appropriate attention

Maybe VIP is an indicator for SS such that the folks know whom to assist. There are probably some VIPs nobody has ever heard of.

My first 'celebrity'

The magician "Dynamo" flying in CE from JER to LGW this morning with somebody else (manager?)

Had photo taken with the crew (after the ten-minutes to landing announcement). Might have been met by Special Services (there was a chap waiting by the aircraft door) but I was off before him so didn't see.

Kate Hudson and Kylie Minogue in F on BA 283 LHR -> LAX on Nov 10. Knew there must have been some celebrities on board when walking down to the gate and saw the black VIP cars next to the plane.
