F in 747 or 380?
looking at booking 241 to JNB for our honeymoon Outbound only has the 747 available in F, and the return has both the 380 and 747 available.
Which would be better in FT's experience, pls? Both overnight, the 380 is a slightly earlier flight (so we could maximise it more?).
Thank you!

Did this route in June, A380 out and 747 back!
The A380 feels much more spacious, I barely saw another Pax.
Whilst on the 747 (in 4A) you were much more aware of the other 13 people.
that said neither are a bad way to get to JNB :-), I would personally take the better timings for my schedule that worry too much about the plane

If you've not done F before then personally I'd do both, 747 out and 380 back.
The A380 is far, far more spacious in terms of cabin size, seating area etc but there is still something special about the 747 and being in the unique nose of them which obviously won't be there forever.

An excellent choice! We did something similar last year: DFW-LHR in F on the 747 followed by LHR-IAD in F on the 380. They were both wonderful with better service on the 747 but a more spacious seat on the 380. Enjoy!

Personally not the biggest fan of 747 F, on my sole trip with Mrs Obduro in this cabin as Silver members we were unable to book Row 1 seats, and ended up in the middle seats in a full F cabin. You are very aware of other people around and it felt both cramped and exposed.
Wasn’t a bad way to travel, of course, but similarly wasn’t an exceptional F experience. The A380 on the other hand feels substantially more spacious (mainly because it is) and private if you get the right seats.
Enjoy your trip!

Well that's only possible if they are both GCH or above (or there are no such passengers in the cabin which would be very unusual on that route) so if not I wouldn't count on it.
