Wrong Date of Birth in BAEC Account

Wrong Date of Birth in BAEC Account
My parents in law have a booking to fly to the UK to visit us with BA, they booked via a travel agent and have fully completed the API (when I log into MMB it shows as fully completed).
I have set up BAEC accounts for them, so we can get their miles in the household account, however I used the incorrect DOB (out by a year!) for both of them - whoops! I can't edit the DOB in the BAEC account without doing things like scanning in a copy of their passport - overzealous security perhaps but understandable.
What will happen if there is a contradiction between API DOB and BAEC DOB? Will the API override? Will they be able to check in online? They are flying from ICN to LHR, so will be checking luggage / having to have a document check anyway?

If you haven't attached the BAEC accounts to the booking yet, just make new accounts. If you have added the FFP to the PNR, I'm not sure whether you can use the Finnair website to change the BA account or something like that. How many avios are we talking about here anyway? A few thousand?

Already attached the FF number to the booking before I realised the error. I've removed via Finnair. Thanks!
Will set up new accounts - bit of a pain but I guess it's worth it for about 15000 avios, they all count now me and my wife no longer live 2000 miles apart from each other, and don't fly much - the extra miles would allow us to use a 2-4-1 voucher next year.
