Seats available on flight
Hi all
We (2 people) are due to fly to Seattle from LHR on the 29th June 2017 in Club - was just looking at the seat map on BA - it appears there are only 2 seats left together.
Is this true & am I going to have to fork out £190 to reserve the seats - wife will not be happy if we are not sitting together. We can check in 7 days beforehand.
We are flying back from Vancouver to LHR on the 17th July 2017 - that situation is slightly better.
Is there anyone who check the real situation?
Thanks Mark

Could you perhaps clarify the flight numbers please? There are 2 flights.
Formally this is the correct thread, but I'm happy to dig out the information.

For both BA49 and BA53 on the 29th June Expert Flyer is showing a few options for pairs together. BA49 there are 7 possible pairs together, plus an 8th that is currently blocked as 64a is blocked. For BA53 there are many more with 4 seats showing as occupied and 4 as blocked.
Personally, even for BA49 I wouldn't be paying for seats yet, just keeping an eye on it, but if it is important for you then you may feel it is a price worth paying in order to guarantee that you sit together.
e2a : this is all from expertflyer.com with a OWS membership number so your options will vary slightly under the vagaries of FLY, but even still signing up to a free expertflyer account may be useful to get a clearer picture than the BA seatmap.

Hi
Thanks - flight out is BA49 - back BA84.
Looks like I will need to spend £190 to get seats together - annoying because I could have most likely done a few flight to get silver membership, which I could have reserved seats.
Thanks Mark

To Seattle there are some upper deck seats still left, but they may be Silver / Gold blocked. It is looking quite full I have to say, given it is several weeks away. You are looking for the clear squares.
And as you say, a bit more wriggle room from Vancouver.
This may change, so one option is to buy something now and then move later if other passengers change their bookings.

Hi,
I decided to bite the bullet & buy seats for the journey out.
I see that the new BC seat is sometimes on the LHR - SEA route - I guess we will not be lucky & have the new BC seats?
Going out 29th June 17 BA49 15:30. Class T
What about Vancouver - LHR that is the 17 July 17 BA84 departs 20:55. Class U.
Also assume no chance of upgrade to 1st?
Thanks Mark
