Purchase or Gift Avios and receive a surprise bonus- BA email

Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere-didn't find any mention of it on this board yet.

Received an email from BA yesterday with this offer:

We have a surprise just for you! Receive a bonus when you purchase or gift up to 100,000 Avios before 23:59 hr GMT 23 March 2017. Then turn your Avios into savings – book a reward flight, cabin upgrade or just spend a little to discount the price of your ticket.

Click below to find out your surprise bonus.

Logged in and was offered a 20% bonus.

Not nearly enough to tempt me into purchasing Avios at BA's rate but I thought it was an interesting new approach-can't remember them running anything similar in recent years.

Did anyone else receive similar? Anything better than 20%?

30% too but then read that paying with BA Amex doesn't attract 3X Avios to the card so skipped it.

I got 30% too - not tempted. 10,000 plus the 3,000 bonus would cost £245. A subscription to the Economist (until the end of the month) gets 13,200 Avios for £179... You can guess which I did...

Got this yesterday but didn't proceed with it as I knew it would be a disappointing offer - it usually is

I did get this offer - deleted the email rather than reading it !
I wouldn't buy Avios (apart from via shopping at Tesco and flying - which both cost money and give me Avios) - they don't seem terribly good value.
