Insulted by Crew Member -complain or not ?

This to me seems like a non-story. Yeah, crew could have been more polite, but after all it is a legit question/concern.
What is so offensive about it? I am similarly sized, don't need an extension seatbelt, but would never thought it an offence if I am asked about it....

Precisely, I often joke about it or point to myself referring to myself as 'larger-sized gentleman'

Is this an opportunity for a bit of health promotion
Overweight is one of the worse health risks out there; if you dont fit in a standard belt... Maybe its time.....
This doesn't negate treating all people with respect of course
Interpreting the OPs discription is sounds like the CC member was trying to be helpful

We were on BA LHR to VCE. I was asked on take off and landing to show my belt because it was concealed by my clothing. Safety is priority. We all want it to be priority.
A month ago I was complaining to my doctor about reflux. He sat in his chair across the room and calmly said "we can start with 10". It wasn't a surprise. It had been a summer of too many trips to the Dairy Go 'round. I told him he wasn't saying anything I didn't already know. It was my wake up call. Having a good time finding a new life style.
Can you take this as a wake up call?

Slightly off topic, but one of the cabin crew on my recent F - LHR - JFK introduced himself to me and the Mrs, with a friendly "Oh no.....The Boro are in!"
For those not in the know he was referring to our local footy team, and went on to discuss our recent game against his team.
I thought it was great! But I guess some may have taken that the wrong way.
I guess he was a good judge of character and maybe wouldn't have said it if he'd have though it would have been taken the wrong way.

What I don't get from the OP's attitude is how anyone's size is a secret. It's in plain sight. If he regularly has to lift his belly to show his seatbelt, and he's so sensitive about this, why not be at the ready as the crew is making their check?

I would expect someone who's belly overhangs the seatbelt making it impossible for me to check if it's fastened to lift up their belly as the see me checking the seat belts, if they don't do this I would have to ask them to show me that it is fastened.

But I'm certain that you would be discrete about it.
