Seat selection - too complicated?
Hi
I have just booked BA JFK-LHR and LHR-DOH Business Class on the AA code share and am QR Gold (OWS).
I am unable to select seats (am offered to pay to select seats) even though the site tells me as OWS I should be able to select from time of booking.
I have the same result going into MMB from either the AA or BA site.
Is my booking just too complicated?

Sometimes you have to leave it a bit, for the status to propagate through the booking.
Try again in couple of hours.

I've had this happen before too. It will probably work fine in a short while, or if not, try deleting your frequent flyer number from the booking and then enter it again.

Ring BA and they should be able to do it for you.

Hmmmm, only the QR leg shows up on the QR website, all the other legs appear on the QF and RJ sites but refer me to the BA site for seat allocation, which is still asking me to pay.
Two days since the booking was ticketed so I guess I will have to call them.

Arrrgggghhh.....
How difficult could this be!
Amex, who I booked my ticket through, put my QF number in - on which I am Silver (OWR), so no free seat selection.
I tried to change the number on-line for my QR number - on which I am Gold (OWS), so free seat selection, but it won't work.
Call BA, cannot help as ticket booked through TA.
Call Amex who say BA won't change the FF number until check-in.
How bloody circuitous and frustrating!

Exactly. You made your bed when you booked thru AmEx so now you get to lie in it. They are really the ones that should make the change for you.

Yes, this should work. You just need the relevant BA PNR(s).
Well, not really - they're actually the airline's agent, and work on their behalf.
