A couple more points to add...
a. The entire experience feels a lot more refined.
b. Upon entering the lounge and presenting your First boarding pass or CCR card, you are personally escorted to the Concorde Room.
c. Staff are very attentive and whilst discreet, always on hand
d. The staff are new and have clearly been through some premium training
e. Washrooms are okay - I don't think showers are available
f. All in all, a very welcome upgrade for DXB travellers
In terms of the new concourse D, it is a huge improvement. It was like a ghost town last night. I hope this is the new normal although I believe it will change as more carriers migrate.
Great selection of dining options for people who do not have lounge access and great shopping options. Biggest let down...not a single ATM on-site yet

Currently I am the only passenger in the Concorde Bar. Champagne is Taittinger Brut 2008. The wines look nothing special but service is very good and discreet. As for food the usual nibbles, the olives are top notch. Hot food is either a curry or a pasta dish but will not be sampling.
Special services took me from check in to the lounge and that was a very good touch as we avoided the queues.

Just been in the lounge. Vast improvement. Getting to D from A requires a BP for a T1 departure now (not sure if this is a temp restriction to prevent passengers from being late whilst checking out the new concourse) the bus will drop off at the T1 post security 'buffer lounge' where the escalators/passage way to the transit is found. Apparently as more flights leave the bus will move to direct D drop off and security.
Staff very attentive in the lounge. The above info was from one of the DXB 'blue shirt shouters' or BS-ers as I prefer to refere to them as.
Trains are frequent and don't seem to have suffered from the long wait to finally be used.

Quote from The National article
"Concourse D has 21 contact stands, of which four will be able to accommodate the double-deck Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 planes. There are also 11 remote stands."
Nice to see there is a possibility of some bus based action.

Passing through next week and in order to max out on the experience, just wondering how long to allow from drop off at T1 kerbside, through F check-in (as GCH) with bag drop and through to lounge ?
As a side question, as it's a few years since I flew BA from DXB, is there a specific door which one should get the limo to drop one off at in T1 ? I sense distances are vast, so would prefer not to be hiking around more of the terminal than necessary.

If it's the early morning (2am?), then the passport/security queues can be bad. Although you should get Marhaba service in F which will speed things up. I'd always aim for 2 hours before the flight.
If it's the later morning flight(s), then it's usually very quiet. 90 minutes would be plenty of time...

A few pictures from Sunday morning in the lounge. My impressions:
- more up-to-date appearance than previous lounge
- comfortable seating
- smaller than Concourse C lounge
- no views or natural light
- maybe slightly bigger selection of food but no improvement in quality
- general BA wifi password no longer works. You need a slip of paper from the reception with a code
- staff are attentive and keep the place tidy and well stocked
