Berlin (TXL) - BA982/3
Munich (MUC) - BA928/9
Leeds Bradford (LBA) - BA1342/3
Milan (LIN) - BA574/5

We apologise for any difficulties caused by the poor weather across UK and we will do all we can to minimise the effect it has on our operations however this situation will affect all the airlines.

Sat on the tarmac in EDI, with a 2 hour slot restriction into LHR.
Drinks being served.
Sucks for those with connections.
Ho hum.

Good afternoon from Southend Airport. WX120 08:40 DUB to LCY eventually left DUB @ 11:05 diverted to Southend cause of windshear @ LCY. Just wondering if the Bae146 have windshear limitations as the BA cityflier Embraer aircraft seem to be able to land @ LCY in current conditions?

Some BA flights are cancelled or diverted, too.

We had to do a last minute go-around at LCY yesterday on a BA E190 and I was quite surprised as to how long the circuit took to complete, so fuel reserves must be a big consideration here, too. Was about a 15 minute loop.

For anyone heading to BOS, heavy snow today might be another factor to keep in mind. NWS has issued a winter weather warning for southern and coastal New England with significant snow accumulations (> 30 cm).

Really glad I arrived from LHR yesterday and drove back to Maine before the snow started.

Interesting looking at the flight logs and graphs coming into LHR - in the hold patterns winds are generally about 70 mph (1/2 of the upwind/downwind sections), while some of the approach speeds (777's) are getting awfully close to 100 knots (normally ~157 knots).

I know you mean this but just to clarify 100 kts ground speed not indicated airspeed.

Usually airspeed is 160 kts until 4 miles out, then slow to final approach speed (tends to be somewhere from 130-150 kts depending on various factors).

Came in on BA48 at 11.30. Lots of flaps work, but no disturbing effects until on the runway where we did a conga type left / right move along a few times while slowing down.

Flight deck informed us that the A380 behind had decided to go around, which I imagine would be quite a sight if it was a long way down when the decision was made.

I caught the first BA LCY-FRA flight today and it was an "interesting" landing....lots of wobbling and the engines constantly goig up and down quite significantly in thrust.

Unbelievably I was the only pax in CE which was configured for about 10 pax and the main cabin was about 40% full. This on the first LCY-FRA on a Monday morning?

I'm surprised they didn't divert after 2 GAs.

I 'watched' on FR24 as a Qatar 380 landed at LHR this pm before 3 on the third attempt.... two go arounds on the southern runway, both at 1500+ feet and a landing out of sequence on the northern. I did wonder about company go around policy but presume the alternate runway made it ok

I don't think a queue of planes going from LHR to LGW having GAed twice passing a line of planes from LGW to LHR for the same reason makes much sense....
