I suspect the gods of the magic beep will smile favorably upon him.

Sad News re corporate-wage-slave [He's flying ecomomy for the first time very soon!]

Well, having done NYC in Y only 10 days ago, I can say it's character building so well done, CWS, sir!

I'm disappointed.

I expected at least EWR on the B788.

I mean, if you want to play tough....

I'm betting he will be upgraded, possibly twice, pre-checkin and at the gate :-)

In the meantime I will be dying in Y on LHR-SEA, that will be painful, and so far no upgrade in pre-checkin stage.

Good Lord!

We must have photos of him sitting in 68G with screaming infants drooling over his seat. Is the actual flight known?

By far the most surprising thing to come out of this will be if cws actually travels in the Y cabin.

They'll find him a spare seat in CW at least.

I wonder if CWS has fully prepared himself for such a journey. Has he ever used plastic cutlery? Does he know how to eat a meal whilst being squashed between other passengers? It's not something that can be done easily without years of training and I can imagine that it will get awfully messy. I fear that the cabin will need a deep clean at the other end!

But if he manages to cope this could be the start of something wonderful.

Come on, that's what keeps us young and cheerful and reminds us how lucky we are when we do it the other way!

Isn't the trip with a friend or relative that is a monk or similar religious individual that will only travel Y? I seem to recall reading that somewhere. Either that or this fever I've had since last week still hasn't broken.

The specific flight details are shrouded in secrecy so no big gatherings can be made for this unique and monumental day. I also can't possibly comment on his seat number as this would perhaps reveal the aircraft type and identify the flight. I'm sure a TR of sorts will no doubt follow.
