Sitting in th the GLA lounge and enjoying a thoroughly good spread of red wines. Top of my list today is the Bordeaux Butler Crabitey Grand Vin Graves 2009.
They also have a French Merlot (Côtes de Castillon 2014), Italian Chianti (Castello do Bossi 2011) and an Argentinian Cuyo (Famatina Valley Lasolas 2011).
Been told they will be rotating 4 new reds every week while they study demand!

My first glass of anything was the Castlenau 2004. I really did not like it at all.
Was much happier with the 2008 Taittinger.
No old world reds again in GF. Spoke to a manager who found me a very nice drop from the Other Place.
Mentioned it on my survey and had a call from someone who said it would be noted and I hope, rectified in the future.

There is a brilliant Pinot Noir today in GF. KIWA by Escarpment, NZ 2012.
1er Cru Chablis, some other decent whites also.
No frenchie is the minus I guess... but that Pinot blew my mind.
And what sad story... this thread used to be on page 1 or 2 in the old days

I found the white you were talking about - hidden down in the champagne bar!
Very nice it is too!

Another night in the GLA lounge brings more surprises.
In the red corner this evening (I don't touch white as often anymore!) is a 2014 Château Lamartine Castillon Côtes De Bordeaux. And very nice is is too.
However the star of the show goes to the 2010 Chateau d'Angludet, Margaux, France. "Damp forest floor" on the nose.

Disappointed that most of my recent T5 GF visits have only had New World reds, as I mentioned above.

GF - Taittinger 2008 has been available recently rather than the Prelude IME, thankfully.
CE - I think Castelnau has replaced the Monopole.

Still no Tattinger white on both bars at GF T5. I'm not best pleased! Have gone for a can of Tribute instead of the Castelnau...

I was rather impressed with the CW wine list on a recent flight from SYD/SIN:
Chablis Premier Cru
Shaw and Smith Adelaide Hills Sauv Blanc
An Oz Shiraz-Viognier
A Chateauneuf-du-Pape
My impression is that the booze is getting better - recent visits to T5 GF have yielded further Chablis PCs and a couple of very good Sancerres. Even the ET white seems better than before. Anyway, I should probably shut up and avoid tempting fate.
