Impossible to see a trend due to the route being new but the CAA passenger stats for Jan and Feb show the service carried an average of 4,500 passengers each month. Much lower than the summer months but I suppose you'd expect that on such a route.
I can't see them upping the frequency unless it's seasonal.

If those number keep up I would be surprised if the route lasts the distance

Again, KLM beat BA on price and timings, although some of the BA corp traffic is said to be high yield so I don't think we'll be expecting cancelations just yet.

I'm heading up to the Highlands for my first ever holiday there (very excited to head up Ben Nevis!). I did take a look at the BA flight but it was considerably more expensive then EZY (best part of £150 vs £35 return for my dates). As others have said the timings aren't great either.
I hope BA make it work, but stiff competition for sure

I think they had some cancellations as well (4 flights?) and February is the often weakest month in the year for any particular route, depending on Chinese New Year and the date of Easter. I'm told INV is performing "as expected" and with no concerns. Calum's point about corporate bookings is fairly important here: this is the trade BA won't want to lose to KLM, not that KLM try very hard in that area, and is highly lucrative.

Here's a summery should anyone need it. I couldn't put the numbers in a percent because of the randomness of A319/20's & and once or twice a A321.
Performance during holiday time appears to be pretty good, notably compared to England and much of Scotland, all the kids around Inverness gets two weeks off in October. I did notice my flights over Jan and Feb were extra empty, which was nice to have row one to myself before dom CE.
Also important to know that Inverness airports numbers in general are rocketing, with a 20% increase from March 2016 to March 2017 with 829,018PAX using it in that period. Estimates are they will top 1M this year.
I really should see if the PR department at Inverness airport is hiring
ROUTE STARTS - 3MAY16
May - 6,094 - 98.2PAX per flight
Jun - 7,412 - 123.5PAX per flight
Jul - 8,541 - 137.7PAX per flight
Aug - 8,346 - 134.6PAX per flight
Sep - 7,997 - 133.2PAX per flight
Oct - 7,773 - 125.3PAX per flight
Nov - 6,039 - 100.7PAX per flight
Dec - 5,677 - 91.5PAX per flight
2017
Jan - 4,780 - 77.1PAX per flight
Feb - 4,377 - 78.1PAX per flight

You are forgetting that this is a pretty important station for cargo.
I was talking to someone at BA Cargo and they are hoping for an increase in the schedule to handle their volumes.

With one flight per day and the start of the school holidays I would expect the flights to be really busy. I was checking for a weekend trip from ABZ to LON the other day and the fares are very high from here to all London airports too at that time
