BA348 7th October Squawk 7700

Hi,

Does anyone know what the problem was with G-EUPM yesterday operating BA348? Scheduled for NCE but diverted to LYS after squawking 7700.
Cheers,
Steve

My Grandmother was on the flight so my info is from her.

She relayed that the passengers were told the flight would be landing at Lyon due to weather problems at Nice.

However, the crew put on 'hazard suits' as there was an 'asbestos problem'.

Absolutely no idea whether to believe what she has said, but she flies the route every 15 days and is not known to exaggerate.

Passengers were bussed down to Nice from Lyon.

The "hazard suits" will be smokehoods and no asbestos but possibly fumes. I wasn't there though so can't speculate any more than that.

If you'd like to lose an hour of your day, I'll give you my Grandmothers number and she will happily detail the entire coach journey!
