A reasonably good deal can be had on the new LGW to CPT service over the holiday season in December/January: Ł1600 pp r/t in J from AMS. Can't find it on Google yet, but bookable on ba.com. Easy connections from AMS to LGW with good connection times.

Next best option is QR for Ł1700 ex OSL, so this may be an interesting route for now.

QR is having a sale again. Not as spectacular as before, but some good deals exOSL. Can't be found via Google. Go to the Norwegian fare deal page on the QR site.

BKK for Ł925
DXB for Ł980
DEL for Ł1020
SGN/HKT/SIN/CMB for around Ł1090

From CMB you can get to MEL for Ł590 (see: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premi...0-i-class.html)

Book by April 5th.
Limited Travel Period:
06 Apr 2016 - 15 Jun 2016

I found very little availability (or none) for the prices mentioned on the sale page. Either the promo fare were sold out immediately or it is an IT glitch... Hope this is not a sign of sales to come.

Maybe. Sale was supposed to start 2 days ago. Anyway, the 'good news' is that the business promo fare, although not as discounted as the sale page makes us believe, seems to book into "I".

Premium Fare deals (J and F)

Are those QR sale tickets the infamous R booking code which don't accrue any points?

The post directly prior to yours says they're booking into the I fare bucket, not R - so no.

Sorry to be a dunce - but -

What is "the QR forum" and does it relate to discounted business or first air fares?

Thanks in advance for an answer.

It's the Qatar Airways forum on FlyerTalk.

I responded to this on the thread within the QR Forum, but we have seen an issue similar to this in the past.

It is usually caused by the QR Marketing team being a little too eager to launch their webpage. They do so, usually before a Bank Holiday weekend, and then just assume the IT team will have loaded the fares in.

Have a look back on Tuesday, and either the Promotional Fare info will have been removed, or the fares will be loaded.

Safe travels,

M
